You (and many other posters) don’t seem to understand the charges.

Racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking and transportation to engage in prostitution. Between 2008 and 2024, it is alleged that Combs abused, threatened multiple people and led a racketeering conspiracy that engaged in sex trafficking, forced labor, kidnapping, bribery and obstruction of justice.

Consent to prostitution is not a defense. Consent to being sex trafficked is also not a defense. Funding and instructing others to engage in organizing sex trafficking and freak off parties is not a defense. Combs alleging I told Cassie to order the hookers, arrange their transportation and pay them and she willingly did it and then we all had our freak off and she consented (according to him) isn’t a defense.

The very act of hiring prostitutes, and arranging their transportation is the definition of sex trafficking. So you may not like Cassie or her testimony or think she got what she deserved (WTF) but Combs was the ringleader and he’s guilty.

More explanation of the charges can be found here: https://www.justice.gov/usao-sdny/pr/sean-combs-charged-manhattan-federal-court-sex-trafficking-and-other-federal-offenses

Good for some of you that you understand the legalities of all this. Really thanks for sharing your knowledge even if it comes with a side of condescension. So far it hasn’t been explained in the trial and people are casual observers.

I am not apologizing for being educated.

Racketeering often comes up with organized crime and the mafia. So think of Sean Combs as a mafia/mob boss who delegates tasks and organizes money with other people to commit crimes. If people do not do what the mob boss wants, that boss might use force/coercion/blackmail to get them to comply. Or he might beat them. Think the Departed or the Godfather. The boss says do what I say. You say no, boss beats the crap out of you. You say I want to leave, the boss locks the door. The boss hands you a drink that you don't know is laced with drugs and now you physically can't leave or consent to anything after that.

A conspiracy is an agreement between people to plan to act. So Combs is charged with leading a racketeering conspiracy. He is the mob boss of the organized crime of arranging and transporting sex trafficking. Cassie's testimony provides evidence that Combs hired prostitutes, instructed her to hire them, coerced her to engage in this organization through force (beating), threats (I will show your mother videos) and other blackmail. Her testimony is 100% relevant.

Please educate yourself. I don't care if I am condescending. It is dangerous to spread misinformation, especially about topics like this.

You've decided his guilt already?

Yes, I can do that. I’m not on a jury. It’s called forming an opinion. You will not find sympathy for this man on DCUM. Better to peddle your wares on another site.

Some people on this thread are asking good legal and procedural questions, which sorry is that not the point of a board like this? But your choice is to berate people and make them feel stupid.

DP. For what it’s worth, I’ve seen very few genuine questions about the charges and how Cassie’s testimony fits in. It’s mostly snark “that’s the best they have?” that suggests the poster is spouting off while having no idea about the charges. I asked whether you listened to or read the prosecutor’s opening statement. Did you? Did the people claiming no one is explaining the theory of the case?

I can't imagine myself, even as a 19-year-old, booking the prostitutes to have sex with me, letting them pee on me, and taking drugs knowing that I was going to be having sex for days on end- and then doing it over and over for years. I am honestly confused why people are feeling so sorry for her. I would've walked away. But the money and what she was getting in return were obviously enough to convince her to stay in the relationship. I'm sorry, I don't see women as children and so I see her as perfectly capable of saying no.

I don't think you are the only one who thinks this. I think you are unempathetic and lack an understanding of human psychology and emotional and physical abuse cycles and how all that impacts a person, which is definitely nice for you.

Whenever I see people defending the kink community, I think this is the other side of it. Maybe they are consenting adults. Or maybe they are people who have been groomed and have a lot of trauma that are caught in a cycle where they can’t meaningfully consent.

In college I personally witnessed female peers in that 18 to 22 year old range willing sleep with groups of male athletes and male fraternity brothers and random boys from our dorm halls. They were consenting young adults regularly having unprotected group sex. Most of them are married with kids and I assume their spouses have no clue what they did 25 years ago.

Honestly, after seeing that in college the Diddy details really don’t shock me at all. Diddy is an obvious lifelong homosexual who displaces self hate onto women.

Not to mention Cassie was upwards of 30 years old while this continued. If she's the key witness, this is a joke. It's all detestable and gross but what felony crimes is she detailing? I want him to go to prison because he's a monster but it almost seems like the fix is in if this is all the gov presents.

She was a 22 yr old new artist when it started. Get real.

So a grown ass adult woman. Old enough to have a bachelor’s degree and be working at Goldman Sachs. Spare me with the vulnerable babe in the woods routine. And that hotel beating video she was 29 or 30? This is a joke if this is the best they have.

^ This is exactly what an abuser might say.

Frankly, after watching that video of Combs kicking and dragging her down the hall, any attempts by his highly paid attorneys to discredit her and the presence of his family members decked out in white would not be helpful to his cause if I were on that jury. Quite the opposite!!

Please educate yourself. I don't care if I am condescending. It is dangerous to spread misinformation, especially about topics like this.

You should apologize for being kind of a douche nozzle.

Some people on this thread are asking good legal and procedural questions, which sorry is that not the point of a board like this? But your choice is to berate people and make them feel stupid.

If you don’t like the victim shaming posts, which I don’t either, respond to those directly. People asking legal questions seems in bounds to me.

I am responding to victim shaming posters and people who make no effort to read about the charges and yet post horrible things about the victims. I am answering legal questions. If only there was a way for posters who don’t initially understand what he’s being charged with could instantly find that information, like from their phone even….. oh yeah, there is.

I don’t care if you or anyone else thinks I’m a “douche nozzle”. What I am not is some sort of victim blamed or enablist for the sick behavior of a predator. Get over yourself. There are probably many more victims out there of Combs than we even know. What is wrong with you?

It's clear you don't care. NP by the way. If you would like to have a conversation with people who are as educated and knowledgeable as you are and fully share your point of view, get off this thread and go look in the mirror and talk. Sick of people like you on this board in general. You are not the arbitr of all things.

What are you even talking about? You’re sick of people explaining what racketeering is and the purpose of Cassie’s testimony? Yikes.

DP and I have been baffled by the people that think that Cassi’s‘s testimony is meaningless and are excusing Diddy because it’s his personal sex life. These people truly do not understand what the charges are. We live in a really sick society.

No one I know feels that way. We view him and his buddies as depraved. It's a disgusting entertainment world that has been allowed to continue for unknown reasons...

Shaking my head at some of these posts.

I am talking about the scolidng tone. Please educate yourself. Did you even read such and such? Shaking my head at some of these posts. I don't know if these are all the same people or not. Explain away. It's totally welcome.

You've decided his guilt already?

Yes, I can do that. I’m not on a jury. It’s called forming an opinion. You will not find sympathy for this man on DCUM. Better to peddle your wares on another site.
