Don’t see why although a good amount of teachers who live in other counties now have kids who are off when they aren’t so I bet there will be lots of callouts.

No. Loudoun is 2 hour delay.

+1 haha

Our roads are a mess. We don’t have sidewalks. There is no way kids walking to the bus and school buses can safely navigate the roads.

Why don't they put plows on the school busses and then they can plow the road and open school

This is 100% correct, here in McLean we are in third world territory in terms of getting service, roads are a complete sh$tshow.

And all the high taxes you pay!

How is Loudoun able to open but not Fairfax?

every year this comes up. They’ve researched it to no end. There are too many cross county programs with 187,000 students attending school it’s impossible. You are also way off with the 95% figure

Complain to VDOT.

Anonymous wrote:This is beside the point, but does FCPS really have 45,000 bus stops like her statement says?

There are 180,000 students (some of whom are siblings and/or share an address). Some of them are walkers but many ride buses. FCPS has the 7th largest bus fleet in the nation and 2nd highest ridership numbers.

this is wonderful news.

safety for all.

and for those who don't care for safety, i guess that is why you didn't use protection to avoid having children.

No, my kid is a teenager. I think the parents of early elementary are the ones that are mad about that.

I’m an early elementary parent. This is why I have a backup care contract.

Unfortunately said child is currently sick so we are making it work.

They had two inches less snow.

We moved out of the DC area two years ago but I came back here today just to look for the snow threads. I want to thank everyone here. This did not disappoint.

FCPS administration is pathetic. Parents who have to go to work tomorrow have to take off and loose pay or pay a baby sitter. Both of which are difficult decisions. The best way to serve the needy in the county is to keep the schools open. FCPS and hypocrisy are synonymous.
