I read the Lipstick Alley thread and while they don't name her there is a poster who claims to know who it is. General consensus seems to be white, old money, living in Georgetown.

I'm guessing she's likely ortho, maybe plastics. The salary isn't that crazy for a surgical subspecialty.

I’ve known transplant surgeons who routinely pull shifts more that twice that long. Over 24 hours when an organ comes available on their call. 12 hours is nothing.

If she's still up and doing things at 11:15 PM and then she wakes up at 4:45, then she's getting 5 hours of sleep a night? SHould you be operating in that condition? Also if you're still drinking at 11 PM and then you're doing surgery at 6, isn't that a bit like an airplane pilot driving the plane after drinking?

Agreed. She has very poor eating and sleeping habits!

That may be true, but she has great skin care habits. She is so disciplined about making sure she does her various layers of skin creams. (I do the same, but then again, I'm older and have a job much less demanding than a surgeon).

I remember Nicole Shanahan who is the wife of Sergey Brin (billionaire and founder of google) talk about her student loans in a video. I’m sure Brin who is now her husband has paid it off for her.

I find it bizarre that she has her husband working to pay it off. Given she has a family office she can afford it. I’m assuming that he is going to be the father of her children so...???

Your attitude reeks of entitlement! This is family money. Shouldn’t be going to paying student loans of someone who may end up divorced from the family.

I actually did grow up poor and married into money. My in-laws have been very helpful with my loans, because I'm a member of the family. I'm in wills too, not ahead of my spouse, but if he dies stuff goes to me rather than directly to our child. I don't demand it, but it's the treatment that makes sense to me, and what I expect we'll do once the money is under our control. It's family money for family members, including by marriage.

That level of wealth is much lower than the woman’s family in the article. There is a difference in how these things are handled.

I know all the cosmetic surgeons in DC and there are only 3 women. I doubt it's one of the three I know.

Agree, I am a world bank staff, salary is similar to fed, Would say 120k to 200k net salary Range for the ~40 yo. Doesn’t climb very much past 200k for 95% of staff
