A secondary reason, not said out loud, is that they want to delay cutting down to their actual Capital rosters as long as possible. I seriously doubt that the 2019 cheating incident (or for that matter the 2010 email scandal) has any bearing on fall HoCo participation.

Madlax A teams, which have about 24 players (29 or 30), are not competing in the fall hoco league because they're competing in 4 high level tournaments. Each Of these tournaments has several nationally ranked teams. Most other are club teams are competing in only 2 tournaments. The Madlax A team and B teams have already split. The B team competes in 3-4 mid level tournaments.

Also, the Fall hoco league has so so competition. FCA and Next Level are probably the best programs competing in the fall league. The Annapolis Hawks are strong but it is their B team hoco league.

Nah...Cabell’s margins are larger with tournaments.

How are these “nationally ranked” teams getting to these madlax tourneys this year.

Well, I’d guess the NY/NJ/PA teams drove in their cars and the CA/CO jumped on airplanes. Plenty of people out there are still moving about the country (and doing it safely) despite the pandemic.

Excellent points. MadLax provides great value when you consider the quality of the coaching, the quality of the players, and the number of tournaments against outstanding national competition. MadLax also provided 50% refunds or credit for the canceled spring season, which the majority of programs did not. Kudos to MadLax for doing the right thing. All of the Capital teams except 2026 are in the conversation for #1 in the nation, and the college placement is strong. Roster sizes are on the large side but not crazy. The DMV teams are a bit uneven, but families are free to choose whether or not it is the right fit. Overall a great program - keep up the good work.

This is actually an excellent question and deserves an answer. Business owners should be setting an example. You all know the example that this one already sets. That has been said time and time again. This is clearly not a surprise to anyone on this forum or on the BOTC forums.

Not just DC law but also Landon pledge

Except Landon isn't in DC and is complying with the Maryland travel guidance.

What this means is that Landon has asked their students to quarantine after traveling to any state, or playing any team, with >10% positivity (like Delaware where their tournament was located). So while not being a MD "law", it was something that all parents with kids on campus at Landon did sign and he's blatantly disregarded this.

Nobody is the "police" here...just pointing out that this business owner does whatever he wants regardless of what the "rules are" and that's how he rolls. Take it or leave it. But then when parents sign up for his teams and are "surprised" by how their kid doesn't get to play....it's just information. Buyer beware and eyes wide open

PPA, can you post the link that says which states have >10% positivity rates?

Fear Monger Alert!

Unless you think the numbers are real regarding their plus 10%. The governor of DE has been in a spat with DC and other states because the states won't provide an exemption. It seems DE disagrees with the numbers DC uses to come up with their naughty list.

What was the deal with our kids having like 35 players on the sideline. Did they have players rostered on both DMV and Capital for today's games?

Apparently that’s what they do.

Yup! Why would Cabell want to create two teams? He would lose revenue. Lots of suckers paying a high price to stand on the sidelines and watch

They beat an exceptionally good NextLevel team by 2.

That’s awesome. Congrats!!!

Great win but I noticed some of NL's best players were out with broken limbs.

The large sideline had a bunch of the DMV team standing around. A few of the kids played in both Capital and DMV games because of the amount of games.
