Feedback on MadLax

I doubt many people dumping on Madlax here really care what the scores were, they just want to vent about a program they’re not even part of. I’m sure some of it is CM, but I’m guessing it’s mostly Madlax’s rep as a particularly “elitist” club- even by the standards of youth lax in the DMV.

No, my take is that there is bad blood and pettiness between certain parents on the 2028 MadLax and Hawks teams, and they are debating whether the teams are close enough to be considered roughly even, or if the Hawks have established dominance. Which is too bad, because the kids on both teams and most of the parents on both teams are classy. But a few parents on each side give both programs a bad look. It is fifth grade. Take a deep breath and try to be proud that your sons are good players and have fun watching them.

Was looking at the teams attending ECD Capital classic. This tournament has fallen far from prior years. Not many teams attending- mostly B and C level teams. I feel bad for the mad lax capital team having to waste their weekend on this one. Playing in this tournament will hurt their rankings.

there's not much competition especially with rising 9th graders playing on 2026 team, it makes it hard to attract quality teams beyond the biased officiating

MadLax did it again- this time playing a kid down from 2030 on to a 2031 team at Summer Exposure a couple of weeks ago (talked to the guilty parent who blew it off as if it didn't matter). Glad they lost to BLC in the finals. Can't believe how hard up people are to say they won something at this age.

How was the trip out West and would you do it again? Asking for our family next year.

Better question is how much did it cost and is it worth it spend that kind of money to play weak competition. I am wondering if signing up for the tournament was a way for CM to get a free vacation.

Vail is a great place to visit in the summer. A lot cheaper than during ski season. Tournament is well-run and fields decent. Club lax is never cheap but if on a budget stay home because lots of other tournaments closer to home this summer.

Staying home is an option but is it really? Some parents, who are on a budget, are spending a ton of money to fly out there and I would expect that they would want to show up with a competitive team, no?

Of course it is an option. Especially for your 6th grader.

Looks like 2026 ML capital had an easy time this weekend with 46 gs and 6 ga. Looked like a fun way to spend a weekend.
