It's a political stunt disguised as community service.

You are sick and obsessed with politics. This group of volunteers did a great service and you can’t stand it.

Wtf? This is a political forum. No one is sick or obsessed for discussing politics here.

You are sick and obsessed with politics for insisting this cleanup was a "political stunt". I guess if it had been a bunch of Democrats cleaning it up (which is most definitely was NOT, btw), you wouldn't have considered that a political stunt. Face it, you are just outraged that a Trump supporter mobilized all these volunteers to clean up an area that Dems weren't about to touch.

It was a political stunt. The organizer's own Twitter bio states: "Hi, I'm Scott. I spent 2 years of my life working to defeat Hillary / If each of us registers 5 new Republican voters, Trump wins in 2020!" You are the one who's sick and obsessed for trying to gaslight.

So He hit Hillary Clinton to help? Kewl

Yes, this is obviously a political stunt. And, equally obviously, Baltimore's issues go WAY beyond trash on the street, and have to do with policies that Republicans enacted or are trying to enact or blocked. Kicking people off of food stamps? Yeah, that's REALLY going to help Baltimore. I could go on and name a zillion anti-welfare policies.

If you told me that Republicans in Baltimore were stepping up contributions to their local food pantries, making huge gifts to school after-care programs, funding Habitat for Humanity, in a sustainable and long-term committed way ... but a one-off trash pickup on a weekend? Please. Don't insult me.

If you need specific streets so you can google map directions, let me know. I'm in Baltimore every single day and can give you tips on places that need help.

And if you don't want to pick up trash, there are a tons of other things you can do, as well. Or, you can keep complaining about how someone "politicized" their help. And how Trump was a jerk for calling out Cummings.

Since someone's bound to try to make a snarky remark, here's where I'll say I do litter clean up on my street and when I'm out for walks already. And I also volunteer in other ways. But there's enough need that every single one of you could fill up your spare time easily. You just have to jump in.

+1,000
They won’t though. They’d never allow themselves to follow a Republican’s lead - much less, a Trump supporter *gasp*! They are the biggest bunch of bratty crybabies I’ve ever come across.

"Follow a Republican's lead"? How? By ripping food away from those same neighborhoods you're claiming to clean up through kicking people of SNAP? By resisting calls for minimum wage laws? By opposing universal health care? By taking away Baltimore girls' and womens' rights to control their reproduction and not have babies until they can afford to? By rolling back fair lending laws?

should I go on?

Republicans can pick up ALL the trash they want. It's a joke.

Of course their problems go way beyond picking up trash. But it’s pretty impossible to do much of anything if they first and foremost don’t have a sanitary environment to live in. Maybe now that the alleys are cleaned up, local DEMOCRATS - you know, elected “leaders” - can take the next steps to tackle the host of problems these people face. They certainly haven’t done much in the way of trash removal for these neighborhoods, now have they? Speaking of insulting...

Also, the organized clean up was on a Monday, not a weekend. Those volunteers had to take time off from work to be there. But I guess that’s of no consequence to a$$holes like you.

As if picking up trash is going to magically make Republicans start enacting more policies to lift them out of poverty and gun control laws to limit neighborhood violence.

I'm sure their tax breaks covered the expense.

Look, dude. You clearly have your knickers in a twist because a group of Trump supporters mobilized and cleaned out some trash-filled neighborhoods, because their local Dem “leaders” hadn’t bothered to do it themselves. These people saw a need and they acted. Not sure what your problem is, other than a clear case of sour grapes. It’s pathetic, really.

So you’d prefer the residents still be living among trash. Duly noted.

This is what happens when there is absent fathers.

They should clean up their own opiate infested dumps first.

So again - you’d prefer the Baltimore residents still be living among filth. Good to know.
