I was with you until the end. Sigh... I don’t think anyone likes prison, but for some people life on the outside isn’t much different and at least incarceration offers meals, health care, and a roof over your head. |

You can’t cash a paycheck from your job either

Can’t call your mom from the lobby of your hotel.
Security guard and hotel manager will call police who will escort you to your hotel room to collect your stuff and kick you off the premises. |
| Be called out for using anecdotes as confirmation bias. |
| Play dates. I have heard all kind of excuses for not allowing their child to come to my house. This kid has play dates with other non-black kids. Just depressing. |
Lol |

Apparently you can't stay at a Doubletree hotel anymore. They should be boycotted for this.
He was a paying guest at the hotel and was in the lobby on the phone with his mom - and they called the police and kicked him out - even after confirming he was a guest. https://www.cnn.com/2018/12/28/us/portland-hotel-police-black-guest-trnd/index.html |
| 12:36 again: the "they" that called the police was the hotel staff. |
Ah, but there are statistical data to back up unequal treatment of AAs and other minorities in the U.S. I'm sure you'll move the goalposts, but still, here's just one of many examples--police tend to use more respectful language with whites than blacks during traffic stops: https://www.pbs.org/newshour/science/police-respect-whites-blacks-traffic-stops-language-analysis-finds |
Yea-- they need to fire that security guard and give him lifetime points. SMDH! |
HIM meaning the guest |
Oh, that breaks my heart. I'm sorry. |
This is the absolute worst! Unfortunately, I have experienced this. |
Growing up in an 97% white UMC/ UC area as an AA, YES!! Now, in upper MC, kids love coming over. It is a good feeling to see kids of all races playing in our house. |
Yes, security guard and night manager were fired. Why did the police allow the hotel employees to use them (the police) as enforcers of lawlessness? The police should have asked a few questions before summarily siding with the hotel and escorting the paying guest to the curb. |
