I think the AIRBnB thing has a lot to do with it being illegal. I briefly had a condo I listed vrbo. Rentals less than one month are against town rules. However, I can lend it to family or friends etc.

Obviously is let’s say I am a white 50 year old male renting to people of all different colors raises a flag.

Heck I turned down a southern white family, white orthodox couple as I get caught quickly. Not racism, I stopped after just three rentals

I’m glad that this story is getting attention. There were so many points where the police could have made things right —and deliberately chose not to.

It’s wild that so many innocent POC, living their lives, minding their own business, become criminalized for “resisting arrest” and “ obstructing government operations “ — simply by maintaining their innocence in the face of someone’s erroneous “suspicions”. The only crime in this incident is false arrest.
