You sound ridiculously ignorant. Like the kind of person who would think black ppl are dirty because their skin is dark. Ew!

It IS less clean, that’s not debatable. Uncircumcised penises are more prone to fungus infections STD etc bc harder to keep clean. That’s where the tradition comes from!

Yes, but only because the men were in a war zone! Tonsils can be prone to infection, too, but we no longer routinely remove them.

This is true. There is no reason to circumcise now. Cosmetic and culture. A cruel thing to do to a baby.

How is it cruel? Anesthesia is used. I don't care if you do it or not, but fail to see how it can be described as cruel.

It is cruel because you are making a choice for your son to his penis that cannot be reversed!!!

I'm a snipped man with an intact son and about as anti-circ as can be but it's stupid to compare it to FGM.

Not even close.

For the "UMC" people - you do know in this area you need to clear about $350-375,000, to be considered UMC right? I think most of you are straight up middle class. If you are under $350,000, you are still middle class.

DP - because you are altering his ability to feel sexual pleasure.

This is all supposition. Pretty sure there are millions of circumcised men out there enjoying plenty of sexual pleasure.

PP, it’s highly sensitive tissue with tons of nerve endings. It’s not supposition that removing it reduces pleasure.

This. It is mutilation of male genitalia and the fact that Jews do this to their own doesn’t mean we can’t call it for what it is.

I don't have a penis, so I have no idea. But my ex, who had to be circumcised as an adult due to a random and sudden infection, said sex was much more pleasurable after the circumcision.

Opposite experience for me.

Yeah it was the opposite for me as well.

Do it if you want or don't do it. It doesn't matter either way. This is generally an argument that women have...just another way to judge each other.

Amen! DH is and our DS is as well. I favored it for cosmetic reasons. DH has no trauma or even memory (of course) of being circumcised and also prefered it. So we did it. End of story. If it cuts down on STDs, awesome. I'm not ashamed of my reasons. And I won't be shamed by the drama mama intactivists. I've luckily never had to waste my time debating it IRL.

Not as much than they would if they weren’t mutilated.

OP. Instead of asking people on this forxun. Just search for the AAP’s latest stance on circumcision. It will give you up to date scientific information.

I think circumcision is horrific but you aren't going to convince anyone by this tactic. It's so personal and impossible to verify. In my past history the uncircumcised men have been far better to be with than circumcised men, but I am sure there are posters with the opposite experience.

DH is circumcised, our two boys are not. I feel like it’s a bit outdated and frankly barbaric. We are but Jewish so no need.

DH is a finances and I’m a HIV primary care physician.
