| Do people still automatically circumcise their sons? My mom had my little brother in the late 70s and I remember her saying that everyone circumcised then (not sure how accurate this is). However, we are now expecting a boy and my husband, who is not circumcised, is strongly opposed to it and says the practice is outdated. Not sure if I am phrasing this question correctly but are circumcisions generally recommended nowadays? |
| Plenty of people on the coasts do not circumcise. |
| Upper middle class white people do per my OB. |
| The idea that it's medically beneficial is totally outdated. |
| My brothers were not circumcised in the 80s (international adoption from a country where it is not done), and my son is not circumcised. He's had zero issues. |
LOL |
| We circumcised our son and will again if this next one is a boy. I only know one family who chose not to, everyone else did. Pretty sure the AAP recommends it, at least they did a few years ago. |
| Ours boys who are 14 and 10 aren’t. |
They don't. They say it's up to parents. The aap is not an unbiased organization that is 100% devoted to science. |
Hmm... this is interesting. |
They were nearly a decade behind the car seat folks regarding front facing, for example. |
| We didn't circumcise. |
| Genital mutilations. It is amazing people only care when it’s done to females. |
| We had girls but would not have circumcised a boy—my husband too is extremely opposed to the practice. |

I'm on the fence about it. Expecting a boy...we're UMC white people if it matters.
