For the win. |
Correct I wrote the above TJ is mostly asians now who have parents that don't understand that doing well in school is not what matters in the real world. Not meant to be a swipe against Asians or TJ but that is what the demographics currently are. I have an MBA from top 5 and I know its been pretty frustrating in my own career to see people rise up who have no business being there. The people from my class who are the most successful weren't the sharpest. That's just the reality and the sooner parents and kids learn it the better. Its all about networking and selling yourself. |
+1000 That's how it is in the real world. The people at the top are not usually the ones with the biggest degrees. In fact no one really cares about where you went to HS. |
Then stop posting about a high school! |
Thank you!!! +1,000,000!! |
You haven't met TJ grads. They have great social skills and great communication skills (speaking & writing) and they are highly motivated in addition to possessing exceptional intelligence. ![]() |
TJ dominates local and national debate tournaments and the local and national Model UN competitions! |
Asian parents do understand that "connections: is the most important thing!!! They are constantly working on that and that is why TJ Alumni association is so active in helping each other with internships and jobs etc. There are TJ Alumni groups at most top colleges as well. They help each other with summer internships and permanet jobs etc. |
TJ connection will surpass all other high school connections in 5-10 years! |
They cream McLean and Langley. |
At the state level for debate and forensics, they aren't even in the same region. TJ is in a region for smaller schools. |
PP said local and national levels. |
Once again, YOU CAN'T COMPARE RESULTS FROM A SELECTIVE ADMISSIONS MAGNET TO A OPEN ADMISSIONS PUBLIC SCHOOL. Can't you grasp how ridiculous that is? That these schools can compete with a selective magnet is amazing. As a TJ parent, you give us all a bad name. You are pathetic. |
I thought all TJ students were one dimensional drones lacking good communication skills while students at top base schools (such as Langley and McLean) were socially skilled, well-rounded, multi-dimensional great communicators with lawyers as parents. No? |
Are you a TJ student? Whoever you are, you are most definitely one-dimensional and lacking in social skills. |
