I feel like that list is a joke. It's a joke, right? Of course it takes you that long if you are a moron with saying goodbye issues.

People. OP said she TIMED the terrible bad no good mother and it took her two minutes. So sounds to me like she ran in, tossed the kid in the room and ran back out because, she had left her baby in the car and knew OPmcnosy was out there with a stopwatch and a finger poised over the 1 (she had already dial the 9 and the 1) waiting to bring the authorities down on her head.

Huh?

Unstrap kid
Walk up sidewalk
Stop to pick flowers
Open door
Walk down hallway to class
Say hi to teacher so she knows kid is there
Kid needs to potty and needs help
Sign papers for field trips, upcoming events; Read classroom updates.
Say bye to kid in window
Go back to kid for extra hug
Walk back down hallway
Stop at front desk to sign roster (so if there is a fire, rescuers will know your child was present and will search until found). This is required and there is always a line.
Out door
Back down sidewalk to car

None of these things takes that long. But there are alot of things. And kids walk slow. This is 10-15 minutes for me. I go fast too. I would challenge any of you to a race.

Then I would win by a long shot. It takes me 5 minutes, tops.

Wow, your home daycare sounds... not very accredited.

I can't tell which PP you are referencing, or even what your point is.

The more accredited a preschool or daycare, the longer it takes parents to drop off and pick up? The more accredited a preschool or daycare, the less time it takes parents to drop off and pick up?

If these are the types of reasoning skills you use throughout pick up and drop off, no wonder it takes you so long.

Y'all saying this should be reported are CRAZY.

This really is a special kind of American bubble wrap crazy. It defies rational thinking.

We didn't write the laws.

You people are absolutely crazy. You don't leave a baby or kid alone in a car, ever, period, end of story.

I agree. And who on earth gets in/out of the school in 2 minutes flat during pick up?

THIS.

I can't believe no one else has picked up on the claim that daycare dropoff only takes two minutes. NO PRESCHOOLER IN THE HISTORY OF ALL TIME HAS EVER BEEN DROPPED OFF IN TWO MINUTES. I think 10 minutes is my absolute minimum; 15 is typical; 20 if I talk to teacher or another parent.

Do you really think this bitchy OP low balled the time? Not likely.

eh, the preschools generally want parents to be in line with their kids and ready for drop off when the classroom door opens. It gets all of the kids started at the same time.

That has nothing to do with "pick flowers, wave goodbye at window, potty child (this happens before you leave the home), go back in for another hug" etc. This Mom may have nothing better to do with her day, but most people enjoy the process being as seamless and quick as possible. OP's person was able to do it in 2 minutes. I can do it in under 5.

Sorry. We can schedule sleep, meals, tv, books and play. But we haven't figured out how to schedule poop.

Good for you. I'm saying that simply walking my kid in with the crowd of other kids/parents walking into the school, standing in line at the door and waiting for it to open, giving a quick hug and then walking out and back to the car is more of a 10 minute process.

Now if I waited and zoomed in with my kid as a straggler...yeah, I could do it much quicker but I don't think that the teachers appreciate that too much.

If this is something that the OP is doing every day she is doing it wrong. Ask your child to use the bathroom before you leave. Very few children actually have to poop at the exact moment of preschool drop off, every single day, unless perhaps there is some medical condition or anxiety in the child.

It's also against the law to sing off key in North Carolina. Just because it's a law, doesn't mean it makes any logical sense. Also, what op described is not against the law in DC.
