| I'm a new poster and cannot believe the majority of these posters seem to blame Trayvon and assume he was in the wrong. I have a teenage son and this story just breaks my heart. Trayvon sounds like he was a pretty normal teen, with pretty normal teen troubles, and caring, involved parents working through it with him. I am so saddened that his name/reputation is being attacked so. We should all be outraged, and fearful for our children. |

Why is this poor dead kid being put on trial for his tweets, emails, and pics? A kid giving the finger does not deserve to be killed in cold blood. And a high schooler who smokes weed also doesn't deserve to be killed in cold blood. If we hacked in to any random teens stuff we would find this kind of stuff all over the place-yes, even from the good kids. I hope the judge or whoever it was that knew gz father gets in big trouble for letting him off the hook. And I don't blame black people (and everyone else) to be so pissed about this, it's a disgusting injustice! And yes, if this were a young attractive white kid that was shot by a Hispanic man there would be an outrage against Hispanics. |

It's mostly one aggressive poster who is rebroadcasting every sad thing he can find, because he has it in for a black kid. Oh wait, this is not about race. I mean a kid. Truthification process. Here is how it stacks up: Zimmerman: Arrested for assaulting an officer Court order for domestic abuse Fired from a bouncer job for being scary aggressive Carried a weapon on neighborhood watch (no-no) Pursued Trayvon when encouraged by police not to 28 yrs old and jacked, based on the current video of him (that pudgy mug shot was from an old arrest) Story has several holes: (1) He claims Trayvon came after him after he went back to his car. Trayvon was 120 feet from his home. Why does someone flee nearly all the way home and then turn around? (2) He claims Trayvon was in hiiding. The place he was found has no hiding places (3) Zimmerman's claim to be beat up is contradicted by the video of him at the police station (4) Zimmerman's testimony was contradicted by what was heard by the girlfriend Trayvon: Walking home with skittles and tea Unarmed Likes baggy pants and sometimes wears gold fronts Says stuff on twitter/fb, not actual criminal activity, just stuff that wingnuts pretend is "proof". Has been suspended from school No criminal record Tall Said he was walking away from his pursuer. Was in fact walking toward his home. |

| Can't possibly read all 15 pages, so I don't know if this has been discussed (my apologies). I get that the whole racist angle is huge in this situation (rightly so). But it seems to me that it's putting the gun issue in the shadows. Why on earth do people like Zimmerman (or anybody, for that matter) get to walk around the streets with guns?? It is so f***ed up. Even here in DC, so many gun crimes. Makes me sick. |
