this thread is hysterical. OP, if you really said "i hope someone would say something to ME if SHE acted like that," hoping the mom or others would hear, then you are a passive-aggressive douche.

so to summarize 12 pages: yes, kids are hard to control sometimes, yes, starbucks is a big company with lots of cookies, yes, the likening of a (perhaps rambunctious) child to a criminal is absurd. done and done.

Is it bad if I kinda hope the OP is real? Think of how funny it would be if a child at starbucks could really have so much power over a full-grown adult that it could cause her to obsess about cookie fondling all weekend. OP, we will get you a cape, that on one side says "COOKIE SAVER." on the other side it will say "SUB-PAR PARENTING IDENTIFIER (loud)"

Then we'll get you a big rubber room to live in.

Yupam clearly there are a lot of posters here raising little brats. They are projecting their own excuses onto this post. The sad part as these kids are being raised to be very unsuccessful in the real world.
One poster even suggested that the mom might be distracted due to a dead spouse.
God bless you that you deal with these pitiful excuse for parents day in and day out.

Now *that* is funny. If only. Take a look at Wall Street and think about the oceans of cookies those guys broke.

I would have said nothing. I don't think it is appropriate behavior for the kid, but I'm not on the Starbucks payroll and I don't see it as a moral issue that I am under some obligation to confront. I would put it from my mind and concentrate on living my life.

I'm betting a lot of them DID display impulsive, reckless, hyperactive behavior. Hardly reflective types. Sadly, many show little regard for others. But, yes, those same types often make (and lose!) lots of money.

Like I am trying to teach my kids now who so quickly point out how others violate whatever rule they have.. if it doesn't hurt you or hurt someone else, then it's not your business (way different message younger). SO I guess OP you are a tattle tale- would that annoy me? sure.. but you can't control everything.. now.. had it been something to my child- I'd speak up at 18M of age to show you can do so etc..
