Good God I hope this is satire. 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

Ok I must’ve mistaken her for someone else. Disregard please.

Your comment was terrible on so many levels. I don’t even know where to start.

anywhere please. i genuinely would like to know why it was 'terrible' and 'on so many levels' when i confused her with another actress of Indian descent in the ER or similar hospital show. so please do share. thank you.

1) Do you have a concept of time?
2) Parminder Nagra and Mindy Kaling don't even remotely look alike
3) Parmider Nagra was on ER from 2003-2009
4) Mindy Kaling was on the Office from 2005-2013
(no, there were no ER/Office crossovers)
5) Parminder Nagra is British
6) Mindy Kaling is American

I'm sorry you think all brown people lookalike, even ones from different countries. Try harder.

does today's Mindy not look like Parminder back in the ER days, physique wise, even a little bit? i don't follow either of them and thought Mindy was the skinny resident in ER, genuinely.

Only to someone who cannot tell Indian people apart. I would not share this thought publicly if I were you.

confusing parminder nagra and mindy kaling is like confusing eddie murphy and idris elba, or ryan gosling and cillian murphy. it doesn't mean you are racist, but that you have an alarming level of face blindness. which is a real condition that some people have, and something you'd want to talk to a doctor about.

o

People often confuse the Ryans. Gosling and Reynolds. People confuse actors all the time. Don’t be so defensive.

Exactly. I confuse all the actors named Chris.

Also Matt Damon & Leonardo DiCaprio. They are both 50ish, about 5'11, brown hair, receding hairlines. Not saying they are twins, but I don't distinguish their roles, except for Titanic.

Also, Mindy played a MD in The Mindy Project with scenes at the hospital, so I'm not going to call out someone who confuses her with a MD/Resident actress on ER.

Dp. Good points, though one difference is the white men that you named are way more common in Hollywood. We can all name dozens and dozens of white male actors across generations and yes many are named Chris.

I recently read a stat that there are more CEOs in America named Jeff than there are women CEOs in America. There’s nothing unique about a white male CEO. Anything else is significantly less common.

I don’t think it’s worth shaming people for confusing Indian actresses. But I do find it odd that someone would bother to read this thread if they have no clue who Mindy is, her body of work, etc though it certainly does not offend me.

Some people are just terrible at telling people apart. My husband is one.

Can we do this with men and their obvious hair transplants?

I'm just being facetious. Women, stop tearing other women down! Seriously, what's with it?

Please start a new thread. We absolutely can - I am interested.

Also this idea that we must support everything a woman does is nonsense. I have no idea where it came from.

Absolutely agree we don’t have to support everything a woman does. But I’m still confused why people are mad about Mindy losing weight.

Shrug. I honestly don’t care so no need to explain. Just pointing out the difference between supporting “everything a woman does” vs being upset (and clearly some people are) that some women lose weight or take meds or whatever. Truly don’t get it.

Because it’s not about Mindy at all. People feel very threatened when someone gets skinny

I have no issue with her weight either way. She was fine when she was heavier and fine now.

I dislike what she has done to her face. I know it shouldn't matter to me, it's her face. But it bugs me.

That said I like many of her shows. Great TV writer and producer. I'm excited about her new one starting soon.

NO ONE CARES she lost weight. Jesus. People don't like being gaslit and lied to. Opposite end of the spectrum? All of the heroin chic emaciated models in the 90s and aughts who SWORE they ate like lumberjacks wolfing down hamburgers and fries like they were headed to the electric chair when it comes out they were living on cocaine (I was going to say coke or blow or snow but this is DCUM) champagne and swallowing orange juice soaked cotton balls to stay satiated.

The public sort of...got over this overt lying. People wisened up. She's using an old PR playbook and people don't buy it someone with a lifelong weight issue all of a sudden loses a ton of weight after three kids in their 40s and 20 years of success and money to pay for the best Hollywood could offer? It's disingenuous.

I actually really like her and love her work. I also think she is pretty self loathing. And that makes her in some way relatable! And she is smart. I honestly don't care aboit the number on her scale but she's kind of toxic from a PR standpoint because of how she views her own self worth and body if that makes sense?
