She’s self deprecating. But I don’t think she’s deeply insecure. I don’t get those vibes from watching her in interviews, pose at red carpets, etc.

Her shows are all somewhat biographical and they are humorous and full of heart. She seems pretty successful and sure of herself to me.

She could just own up to it but instead she pretends she hikes a lot.

No, I’m not angry. I find it interesting that there are women and maybe men who think they are entitled to be thin and other people aren’t. That paradigm is going to have to change. In five years there will be very few people who can afford to spend two to $300 a month who are still overweight. I guess poor people will still be overweight but most of the folks we work with and parents at our kids schools and who live in our neighborhoods and won’t be. They won’t all be super thin and fit but people will largely have their weight under control.

It’s interesting to me that it truly drives some people bonkers.

Absolutely agree we don’t have to support everything a woman does. But I’m still confused why people are mad about Mindy losing weight.

Shrug. I honestly don’t care so no need to explain. Just pointing out the difference between supporting “everything a woman does” vs being upset (and clearly some people are) that some women lose weight or take meds or whatever. Truly don’t get it.

Ever since I started taking my health more seriously and losing weight, one of my coworkers insists on making snide comments about my "special diet". It's sad, really.

How is she insecure?

That's she's funny (at least funnier than you). And way more successful. And definitely smarter. And brown.
