Rule against the Indepent Legislature Theory which believes that State Legislatures, and only State Legislatures, have complete and final say on all things regarding elections, including determing who won, regardless of what the voters, state courts or state constitutions might say. It's a ridiculous theory pushed by the GOP on Jan 6th that hasn't been explicitly repudiated. If it were true then the State court ruling (and referendum) wouldn't matter. |
| I just don't care anymore. I am doing great financially, and rising gas prices, health insurance costs, and grocery costs don't matter to me. If this is what the MAGAs want, so be it. Let them win the midterms, and the country will deteriorate more and their lives will get worse, and maybe by 2028 they'll finally wake up. I'll be fine regardless. |
The pattern is already set in stone for the next 20 years. Republicans will control national elections and most state governorships and legislators. Democrats will run major metropolitan areas. The country will fracture further. If not already one of the haves, life will be hard. Going to have to hit rock bottom before things change and a long way from rock bottom. |
That’s fine. When Democrats win and try to fix the messes created by republicans, they just get blamed for not fixing the problems quickly enough. Let republicans remain in power, and hopefully there will then be no doubt as to which party is the problem. |
LOL! They can’t handle the truth either |
And on what ground would they overturn the VA Supreme Court's ruling on what the Virginia Constitution says? SCOTUS has no say, unless there was some sort of due process issue which there is not. You seem to think you will make them go on record but that is not what would happen. They would just deny cert without comment. There is nothing partisan in this one. |
Pratt has a great chance at becoming LA’s next Mayor |
+1 Has Louise reacted to this news? It does delight me to think of her seething, and in the middle of her corruption probe, too. DP |
“No better”? BoThSiDeS |
I agree with the pp. I always vote blue because I like making my own medical decisions, but the dems just continue to make strategic mistakes. It’s…not great. This was also a strategic mistake in a big way. I think we’re going to be in this for a good long time to come. I don’t know how we get back to the middle. |
You believe that Democrats are “no better” than Republicans? |
DP. They’re not. If you believe otherwise, bless your heart! |
Worst |
| Spanberger and the democratic legislators over the top agenda this legislative session led to a purple result in the referendum. VA is a purple state and will remain so. How Spanberger handles the remaining bills on her desk following the special session will decide the results of the upcoming Congressional midterms in VA. She best use her veto power wisely, but most likely will just cower in her office and do nothing. |
Anyone who believes this is either a f-ing idiot or a huge a-hole. Or both. |
