Irrelevant. The numbers are about admits and the incorrect claim that kids getting in at HW are somehow not top students. |

At least have of the UChicago Sidwell admits are not ED0 or ED1. So, what’s your point? Btw, this thread is about Sidwell. |

The academic pedigree of UChicago was built upon the backs of pure intellects, not a bunch of “polished”, DC trust fund babies. If you know anything about the school, you know that Chicago never gave 2 wits about polish. And that their new admissions preferences are first and foremost about finances, not merit. |
Except all of the kids are still wicked smart. Many of the people on here seem to struggle with the reality that there are way more super smart kids than there are spots across a dozen or so schools, and so all of these schools have incredible students. |

Right, because 12 Sidwell seniors (who you’ve never met, but assume are DC trust fund babies) attending Chicago will cause it’s academic pedigree to come crashing down. If you zoom out, only hermits like you are complaining about this microscopic group within Chicago. |
+100 - the haters are just upset that there can be polished smart kids that happen to be well off. The NYC private kid I know at UChicago majors in math with perfect SAT scores, and is very well spoken and intellectually driven. This is not an either or situation. They are ALSO wicked smart. |
| As a mom of a private school son at Chicago, as much as I wish him to be “wicked smart”, he is not. Let’s be honest. |
So, he’s only just smart? |
Have heard some ED0 UChicago admits didn’t post on insta right away so no one knew they were in the pay to play program. No idea if this happened at Sidwell in particular but you can’t assume admittance date just based on when the kid posted (unless they posted very early). |
Chicago students themselves believe their ED practice is inequitable and non-transparent. https://chicagomaroon.com/51541/viewpoints/editorial/ed0-makes-admissions-less-equitable-and-less-transparent/ |
