Dude, it's like you love to be gaslit by that guy. His kids go on his teams, and they're just not good. His teams learn how to play club, not actual lax. So, it's 10 on 11 from here on out, with lots of dodging and turnovers for that squad. |
So much wrong with both of these comments: Madlax national team is a joke, it was a rushed rollout to try and compete with NL's Mojo team. In it's current form, Madlax National Team isn't a viable option for those area kids wanting to play on real national team. The best Madlax players already play for Mojo, Nationals LC, Red Hots and others. If anything, the current EHS players bring talent to the ML national program. If kids want to go to EHS, it has nothing to do with CM. Scott Conklin has a tremendous lacrosse resume as a player and coach. Lastly, boys lacrosse is played 10v10 |
Tell me you know nothing about club lacrosse without actually telling me. Madlax national/supreme has been around much longer then mojo nationals. Nl/mojo was created to compete with madlax and other national programs. |
| National Lacrosse programs are a joke, all of them. |

WCAC and IAC player of the year predictions

I think he meant it’s like giving the other side an extra man. Badly put point nonetheless. More importantly, who started their national program first is irrelevant bc they both kinda suck in club land but not sure that even matters bc they’re making money off it. Whether they actually coach is kinda beside the point, it lets some kids who don’t get to tournaments get to tournaments. Whether that is a desirable goal (debatable at best) is also irrelevant to the owners of those programs. |
Agree 100% with this. Many owners are fine not being the best. As long as they have families signing up, their pockets get lined. |
|
National programs are all a marketing ploy for another money grab by these club owners.
Some parents have the pockets and are dumb enough to continue write the checks to these club owners. |

CM started with Madlax Nationals which was basically the top Madlax Capital players plus a few out of town studs. It was a money grab, but it was two tournaments a year, and at least the Madlax National teams were typically very elite.
With Supreme, he’s gone full money grab. 5-6 tournaments a year, and basically anyone can sign up. The Madlax Capital kids bailed on it, and they are B bracket at best, but there are apparently still plenty of dopes out there willing to pony up. The EHS kids would most certainly be an upgrade to any Supreme team now. |
I guess we know who will be keeping Club Nationals afloat down in Orlando. They've been doing it the longest so the talent level must be the best! |

Club nationals is dead. Worst pool
Of teams this last year |
| Take this stupid club talk elsewhere. No one cares about club lacrosse, it’s for suckers. |
A coach or a club "being fine with" not being the #1 team or having the #1 player is like a teacher or principal actually caring about a kid who is not the valedictorian. It's not about money or IG clicks. As a long time coach of youth sports (and high school players outside of the MIAA triple holdbck leagues are still youths), I found the greatest satisfaction in helping lower tier kids move up levels. Get away from MadLax, Crabs, DC Express, Hawks and Next Level, and you will find that there are lots of coaches and organizations who actually are just trying to help the kids be the best version of themselves, on and off the field. They have to charge $ because they have expenses. But they are not in it for the money. |

Random thoughts from watching the Virginia championship game btwn PVI and STAB, which STAB won 8-5 (I was bored, sue me):
- PVI is not bad at all. They couldn’t clear, had almost no settled offense, and were maybe 15% at the dot, but their defense is really good and the goalie played lights out. They have some serious athletes who hustle. They just need to get a FOGO and figure out a more mature offense. Dunno what they lose but I think they’ve just had a tough year, rather than anything systemic. - Not really relevant to this board but STAB is very competent all across the game. They must’ve outshot PVI 10-1, and they play a very smart, pass oriented ball control offense but as noted the PVI goalie was an all star. Great at the dot and technically proficient clears and ten man rides. Impressive second year for their new head coach. I looked them up and they played Calvert Hall and Bullis early and close, but didn’t really play anyone worthwhile after that. I suspect they’ll be looking to get on some of the better IAC/WCAC/MIAA teams’ schedules next year. - Given all the PVI parent hate I saw on here earlier I expected hicks misbehaving in genteel Charlottesville (I admit that was one reason I watched). Couldn’t see the crowd from the feed but heard them and while boisterous they were not at all obnoxious. Just very supportive of their kids. Nothing at all wrong with what I heard. I guess yet another lesson not to believe what you read here without verifying on your own. Good season all. Enjoy the summer! - |
| Thanks for the write up. |
