How much does Canada tariff us? I bet it’s a lot.

All tariffs imposed by Canada or Mexico (Prior to January 20, 2025) are established by the USMCA. That is the trade agreement negotiated and signed by Don "The Con" Trump after he withdrew from NAFTA.

What do we glean from this? Only what we have forever known. If a Trump gives you their word, they just handed you a pile of sh*t.

??? Why the distraction?

How much does Canada tariff the USA?

What are the numbers? And why do they refuse to have free trade?

Canadian here. Why does the US spend billions in agricultural subsidies to farmers, which impacts the price of exports? Why can't the US have free trade?

I think all countries with Farms subsidize farmers for national (and world) security. The land needs to be profitable in droughts and market disruptions so it remains arable and maintains its ability to feed the populations along with the means/systems of food production being maintained.

A honest breakdown of all these tariffs/vat taxes/regulatory impediments/currency manipulation and subsidies would be helpful.

Trump is totally right about one thing…Tariffs on the worlds largest consumer market is an unbelievably awesome tool. When China pulls its currency manipulation / dumping tricks you just raise the tariff 10 percent. When they stop you lower the tariff. You can adjust them instantly

What a bunch of Bullsh#t. Trump is just punishing Canada. To think or say that Trump is doing this as some type of policy for better economic gains is idiotic.

It’s to return our manufacturing base for a real tax base and trade balance. The USA economy is a basket case with the highest debt, deficit and trade deficit in the world by an exponential amount. When we were awarded the reserve currency we had the biggest surpluses in all those areas. We even import defense needs from China. The country is weak at its core and Trump is working on fixing it.
What are you talking about?? You think taxing Canada, our friendly neighbor, will fix our economy? Maybe take away tax cuts from the billionaires...

They tax us. We pay for their defense they use the savings for free healthcare and maternity leave.

We need the money back

The US does not pay for Canada's defense. Where on earth did you get that idea?

Isolationism hurts everybody. You will be punishing Canada and ordinary Americans. There is a reason the post world war two order favored free trade.

How will the US get its money back when the message it sends is that it is not a reliable trading partner? How does pushing allies away lead to more American wealth?

They froze the bank accounts of peaceful protesting truckers. They need a spanking.

Those "peaceful protesting truckers" will suffer with tariffs. Reduction in trade due to tariffs = reduction in loads for the truckers who moved the stuff = less truckers!

Hint: Trumps tariffs are not about Canadian Convoy truckers.

It has to be a Trump idea.

Breaking News: Imposition of all tariffs on Canada and Mexico are to be delayed until 2nd April. And we do this again in a month.

It's just stock market insider trading by Trump and his cronies. They know when the market is going to rise and fall in response to tariff announcements. They must be making a killing.

Trump is too chicken to impose these tariffs, so it becomes a market trading grift while the MAGAs wait for the red meat that never arrives.

Canada is still not going to stock American alcohol. CEO Lawson Whiting needs to take his complaints to Trump because they are his fault. Wait till the UK starts boycotting American products. If you want isolationism, then you get isolationism. You sell your products to Americans, who may or may not have the $$ to buy them due to Trump's tanking the economy.

Oh no, he's definitely throwing bread and circuses.

There will likely be an election called in Canada in that time.

Hopefully all Provinces that pulled US liquor stick to it. I have my doubts.

If you were Canada right now, would you trust us? Countries are making other plans no matter what pulling back Trump does. The damage is done, until this trio of fu(kbois are far from office.

Not seeing the link between when the new Liberal leader calls an election and the next iteration of the Trump tariff circus.
