NP. I grew up in a Christian sect that mandated skirts to mid-calf and elbows covered for all females, including young girls. We did not cut our hair, marriages were more or less arranged within the community, and there were exactly two colleges we were allowed to attend as girls.

The functional difference between the "modest" attire I grew up with and a burqa is negligible.

That is highly unusual and has no basis in the general Christian faith. That was something your leaders cooked up.

Many white evangelical Christians believe the Bible is the ultimate law by which to govern. It supersedes any law written by Man.

And that just like Saudi Arabia is a Muslim nation, America is a Christian nation.

They are sidelined voices for now but that’s how all far right religious sects are. Do you think the Muslims always were this radical? During the Ottoman Empire, you could barely see a hijab and homosexuality was decriminalized where it was a big crime punishable by death based on British common law. The levers of influence always change from left to right and usually the Middle East and the West go in opposite directions: since the early 70s, the Middle East became significantly more religious and Sharia law became a thing and it’s the opposite in Europe and the US.

It’s not outside the realm of possibility for it swing back to right wing here and left wing there in 100 years
