Question about Herndon: Black is their top team, right? So the one that plays in pre-ECNL league at U11/U12 and ECNL RL at U13 and above? They don't do that thing some clubs do where they change the team names/colors once they get to pre-ECNL age?

No. Black is always their top team. So their older teams that play in ECNL RL are their black teams. The second team is red. If there is a third team, its white.

My daughter is a current hys player and got an offer after the first tryout session.

HYS on the girls side usually is drama-free among players and parents. No super stars, no major egos either. If you daughter wants to make friends, stay fit, have some challenges, hys is a good fit. If you think she is D1 material, move on.
Now, there is drama with coaches, board members, etc…. as in most clubs in the area.

Tell us more! My boys play HYS and I never hear any good juicy gossip.

Sorry. I am not good at keeping track of the particulars of the drama. I try to stay away from it. I hope the adults would remember that, in the end, the kids are just playing a game, and they should be having fun.

Does Herndon emphasize technical training at the younger ages? Asking about boys specifically. And are they effective in teaching the skills?
