Interesting. I got the Danskin panties, maidenform also makes some. And they help with light days. The lace on top was a miss but over all I think they were $30 for 5 so not bad.

I did pay for the highest trim in my non-luxury brand car to get ventilated seats, heated steering wheel, etc. Even still, I’m not sure it was worth it.

I do pay extra for my kids to do the competitive version of their respective activities. I think it’s a waste but they don’t so it’s worth it in that sense.

I couldn't care less about cars- I just need them to work but we moved to a harsher climate and the higher trim with heated seats and steering wheel are such nice to haves!

-Traveling with my kids to well researched places that we all look fwd to with down time and fewer crowds/lines (whatever you have to pay to make that happen) is totally worth it for me.

+1 same with my Lodge dutch oven. Much less than the Le Creuset but has been going strong for years.

I get paying more for certain high-end brands (Breville appliances come to mind), but Le Creuset (and Staub and others) are simply a good example of the power of marketing. High-end enameled cast iron offers exactly zero improvement in results over the same items from Lodge or Rachel Ray or whatever. You're paying for the logo, nothing more.

I’m a beginner-intermediate skier and bought used boots when I first started. I’m beginning to think that my boots don’t fit well/properly and is a big reason why I am having a hard time progressing. Where would one go to get custom fitted boots? Any place GOOD in the dmv?

I just got fitted at Sun & Ski last weekend. They were great and I wish I had decided to buy my own boots sooner.

IKR? my upper level dressage horse makes the BMW people seem cheap. He’s a Ferrari and easy for what he is, but not anyone can ride him. If you don’t know what you are doing he is the first to tell you to eff off. If I am not on my A game he’s happy to let out a tiny FU kick, we call it. DCUM would love his attention to detail. Lol

My horse is nearly worthless but her care and upkeep are the most expensive things I own lol.

Bury me with my used horse shoes and ex-rays lol. Fill the funeral with trailer fumes. Instead of a preacher raising hands in prayer, play a video montage of my trainer standing ringside and throwing up her hands in despair.

I got lucky and imported one for $75K and then he sold for $350K. (Not the dressage rider). But my dad always said, it costs just as much to house a horse that costs $100 as one that costs $100K and that's always stuck with me.

It’s really the retirement that gets you. Unless you have a home farm, horse ownership is kind of like playing musical chairs.

Dressage rider here. Yeah, it’s why I have 4, ranging from not yet 1 to an ancient 31.

Apparently I need a new horse every 8 years to have something in its prime I can show at any given time. I lease out the 16 yo so at least she finally makes me $$$$.

Also having the farm is NOT cheaper. Because once you have the farm you need to change this and that, you need the truck and trailer, and finally you get annoyed at bad weather and build an indoor arena…it never stops but I love the life!

I'm from CA but I much prefer Willamette Valley pinot to anything from CA
