I answered earlier. Everyone should be safe in prison. Transgender women should not be men's prisons. I trust the wardens to find the best way to keep their inmates safe with the resources they have. If everyone isn't safe, then maybe we need to better fund prisons. Or rethink our prison system.

Why are Republicans so focused on these niche issues? As if they ever cared about women's safety in prisons before this. Or about women's sports? Just lazy excuses to trash transgender people.

Agreed. Which is why I say the whole trans movement is rooted in sexier stereotypes. What does it mean to “feel like a woman” or “think like a man”?

This isn't my experience at all. Most transgender people I know are very fluid and exist in the middle of the spectrum, not at the extreme ends. Look at how many gender-neutral people there are. They are anti-stereotypes.

You have to do what you have to do to prioritize your safety and your family's and I have to do what I have to do to prioritize mine. Depending on the location, demographics of the crowd, and how I might be presenting that day, that might be the men's room or the women's room or the unisex/gender neutral room. I'm not going to be ashamed for not wanting to be harassed or attacked.

I've been responding to you. I work out with an enbie. They are fine. But, in my gym, everyone has access to both locker rooms. And I'm relieved they don't choose the female one. I'm alone, there is no attendant, and no security. I suspect they are actually biologically female but I just don't know, and part of being a woman is being under constant threat.

Yes, in Scotland. And she is concerned because in some cases, male rapists have identified as female after the arrest and demanded to be housed in a women's prison, where they raped female prisoners. She feels that this is not an acceptable approach.

Everyone should stop and read about how rape is handled in Scotland. There are so few convictions and judges tend to be very concerned about the feelings of the rapists.

This isn't my experience at all. Most transgender people I know are very fluid and exist in the middle of the spectrum, not at the extreme ends. Look at how many gender-neutral people there are. They are anti-stereotypes.

Yes, in Scotland. And she is concerned because in some cases, male rapists have identified as female after the arrest and demanded to be housed in a women's prison, where they raped female prisoners. She feels that this is not an acceptable approach.

Everyone should stop and read about how rape is handled in Scotland. There are so few convictions and judges tend to be very concerned about the feelings of the rapists.

I haven't revealed what genitalia I have, if that's what you're wondering. By looking at me you wouldn't be able to tell. I've been responding to you. I work out with an enbie. They are fine. But, in my gym, everyone has access to both locker rooms. And I'm relieved they don't choose the female one. I'm alone, there is no attendant, and no security. I suspect they are actually biologically female but I just don't know, and part of being a woman is being under constant threat.

You can't help how you feel. I fully respect everyone's decision to remove themselves from situations that make them feel unsafe. What I am not okay with, and I have experienced, is people demanding I leave a space because they can't tell what is between my legs.

I answered earlier. Everyone should be safe in prison. Transgender women should not be men's prisons. I trust the wardens to find the best way to keep their inmates safe with the resources they have. If everyone isn't safe, then maybe we need to better fund prisons. Or rethink our prison system.

You can't help how you feel. I fully respect everyone's decision to remove themselves from situations that make them feel unsafe. What I am not okay with, and I have experienced, is people demanding I leave a space because they can't tell what is between my legs.

I can't help how you feel. And what I'm not okay with, is people demanding access to vulnerable women's spaces because women are usually the targets of sexual violence. Since you don't care how I feel, you can surely understand my need to push the point.
