Lily Collins is too thin in Emily in Paris

People who are saying she looks amazing when she has a known earring disorder and is literal skin and bones are sick individuals.

You can see every single one of her ribs in her chest

Are there people who really think that is normal?

If I saw the show and didn't know anything about Lily Collins, I wouldn't necessarily be concerned.
But the actress has told us that she's anorexic.

Oh my goodness people! She has an ED, and she appears to have recently lost a ton of weight! People saying she's "perfectly normal looking" in season 2 have a really warped perception of "normal". As someone who is in recovery from an ED (because I believe it is a lifetime thing), it's really obvious to me that this is unhealthy weight loss. Considering she got married recently, and a wedding is a huge stressor, it wouldn't surprise me if she got into some unhealthy habits recently. I lost 15 lbs in the run up to my wedding...and I was already at the low end of "normal" before then. It's not wrong to point these things out, since actresses are held up as glamorous role models.

In case you're wondering, this is LC in Season 1 (very thin but I think healthy):

This is Season 2:

When you are super thin, the veins on your hands can be really noticeable and scary looking. Paris hilton wears gloves all the time too

Thanks! Thought it was quite odd.

I agree. I was watching last night, and it's a bit scary how skinny she is. She looks like my anorexic dorm mate from college.

Maybe she's perfectly fine. Maybe she's not. But you're not her doctor or her parent, so it's none of your business.

Louder for the people in the back. I grew up just like you, and it's only as I've hit middle age that I have filled out enough to not get those comments anymore. Some people are just born thin, period.

If some people are born thin then we must accept that some are born fat and just leave everyone alone. How about that?

But she's a role model for young women. She looks terrible, IMHO, yet I worry that young women will think they should look like her. They should not!! She's ill, that's clear.

For shaming purposes.

No it's to make clear that her level of thin-ness is extremely unhealthy.

Why do you think there are so many anorexic girls? They see kids like this on TV and think, "I want to look like that!" Or worse, they think, "I should look like that!"

Yes, some people are naturally thin, and wow, they're lucky. The rest of us are not thin, not fat, just sort of Ok, maybe could lose a few, but who cares?

But the media portrays female beauty as unhealthily thin, and this actress is demonstrating that really unhealthy thinness, which will turn a lot more girls anorexic.

I had an eating disorder when I was younger because of all the pressure to look good and be thin. I wasn't even fat or overweight or anything!! Just a normal adolescent, who gains a little weight as you get older!

I think the acrtess, Lily Collins, should do some PSAs about anorexia, and show girls that her level of skininess is extremely unhealthy. It can even lead to heart attacks, and other health issues.

I also noticed that, when Emilia Clarke was dating lily's current husband, she also lost a ton of weight. Some men do that to the women theyre with, encourage/mentally twist them into losing a lot of weight. Kind of speculating, but wondering if that's going on here.

+1
My very naturally thin friend developed an eating disorder after her then boyfriend (also extremely thin) told her she should lose 20 pounds. (He had no idea what he was talking about. She would have been dead if she lost 20 pounds!) She suddenly became very conscious of her weight, and this was more than 20 years ago!! She is still very thin and very careful about what she eats, which is unhealthy. She's always eating "fat-free yogurt" and leaving half her dinner on her plate. It's crazy, but this is what men do to women, and of course, women think men have the right to dictate how they should look!!

I'm one of the posters who didn't notice anything. I don't have an ED.
People who have ED are noticing the difference. Eye opening.

They also often dress her to camouflage it. Huge ruffles, etc. She is always strangely positioned during the romantic/undressing scenes

I'm halfway through the season but was thinking the same thing. It appears that they are covering up, not celebrating her size.

She is not ill. She still can shop at any store for her designated size, just like a good number of Asian girls. That would be a size 0 or UK 6 or EU 32.
What is this need to body shame anyone who doesn't look like yourself? Are you perfect?

And what's the REAL impact on young women? I yet have to meet someone anorexic and I know at least 70% of people who are overweight.
