GOOD. This is exactly what I want. We have many qualified people in this country who deserve to be elected to the highest offices in the land, who have NOT assaulted others. |
The poster told them to ask me. I actually ignored the first request. After the second request I decided to check because I believed the poster and I expected to confirm that the poster was a Hillary supporter. I was surprised to find out that she was also Jordan Peterson supporter. |
Yikes. Now I know why my intuition told me to not even walk down the street where “frat row” was by myself at night! |
Agree! This is outrageous behavior and while it may have been witnessed repeatedly it is not at ALL normal. |
All of this could have been avoided if the Republicans hadn't done away with the filibuster. A candidate who can get 60 votes is going to be a good candidate. |
EXACTLY!!! Like RBG. My mom was at Cornell at the same time as Justice Ginsberg and she says RBG's reputation with her sorority sisters, whom my mom knew, was that all she did was study and hang out with her boyfriend (and future husband). RBG was a super nerd, excatly the kind of person who should be on the Supreme Court, not a hard-partying high school and college drunk. |
Oh, please. Amnesty International? That is just a joke of a position for them to take. You would think that had these events happened, SOMEBODY would have reported them to the police. JUST ONE PERSON. |
She graduated in a public high school in Gaithersburg in 1980, three years before the judge did. No way she was even in the social circle of the prep boys. |
So, looking ahead here to the future of Republican Senators who have expressed their opinion today that the latest accusation is another Democrat scam. Do you think they will face political backlash? |
Sometimes, yes. The system is not perfect, obviously. You can still go to the doctor/police/even your parents (had any woman said she even told an adult?) |
As said, words have convicted him not evidence. |
No. I think Democrats will, though, esp. among men. This is mob justice identity politics laid bare. People have had enough. |
We're tired of explaining all the reasons why. Just scroll through the thread, or go to the NYT to read exactly why victims don't immediately come forward. At this point you're a troll. |
Wow, you have personal knowledge of these people? |
Aside from actual assault, they don't need to do more than explain that they regret their msygenistic behavior, regret they particpated in or laughted at sexists views of girls that were par for the course in the 80s and are still with us a lesser degree now, regret that they weren't forsighted enough to stand up to this culture and call it out, and claim thet youth doesn't excuse it, rather youth culture needs to change and is changing. BK won't do that. If he is not lying about being a virgin, it means he played along enough (his yearbook!) but kept his hands clean. Maybe part of him knew it was wrong. If he spoke up now about his own misguided cowardice as a youth, and I would have less compunction about his being a supreme court judge. |
