SATC New Season - And Just Like That...

I was furious when she was talking to Carrie about how Big is not in heaven...your friend is struggling and needs to know her departed husband is watching over her. Can you not be supportive for ONE minute?

I did find the parallels of Carrie leaving her job for Paris in the original & Miranda leaving the internship for a relationship in LA a nice touch.

Agree! This made me mad too. I am an atheist but I can’t imagine talking to my friends this way. At any time, really, but especially when she’s talking about her dead husband. What an awful person. Did they mean to make Miranda so unlikeable? Because she is! I could not care less what happens to her.

Miranda is a selfish a-hole.

For someone whose child we baptized Catholic, Miranda was a total jerk about Carrie mentioning the afterlife. So you can ask Carrie to be godmother, but she’s not allowed to believe in…God?

But also, isn’t Charlotte not supposed to believe in Heaven, as a Jew?

Good points. Sloppy writing.

It's almost as if SJP took all the "Carrie is the worst friend; she's so entitled and selfish" criticism directly to heart over the years, and agreed to do this reboot if and only if the writers made Miranda the worst of the bunch. Well, mission accomplished.

"This season may be ending, but we’re not done yet. And Just Like That…The Documentary premieres Feb 3, only on HBO Max." Ugh.

This reboot sounds like a disaster, glad I decided to skip it. It also make me look at the original series in a different light if this is the fate of the characters.

Completely agree. It was so awful. I can’t imagine saying that kind of stuff to someone I really dislike, nevermind my bestest friend. So effing what if she wants to imagine Big puffing away on a cigar on a cloud? As an atheist, it makes me happy and wistfully envious of my friends who are able to find comfort that way. Miranda sucks so hard this season.

I concur. During her call in radio hour (ahem, podcast), her response to caller's question was "ugh ... I don't know ... *sighs dramatically*," and her producer had the audacity to tell her, "wow, great job, you'll be a hit!"

That was beautifully done.

Whoops the callback to the funeral scene with Miranda telling Carrie not to go was beautifully done. Also hard agree on Miranda being an ahole about the afterlife stuff. But she looked gorgeous at the end.

Agree. What the show is doing with Samantha and the texting feels like cheating but I still love it, goddammit. If SJP could only be nice in real life we wouldn’t have this problem.

I agree

I didn’t even realize it was a finale. It was indeed bad. Boring, awkward, and I do not care for the bizarre fashion choices.

I actually loved everything Carrie wore in this episode – which NEVER happens – until the orange dress. But WTAF was Charlotte wearing for the bat mitzvah? That looked like a 1988 Nebraska prom dress and it didn’t even fit her.

I've hated the Charlotte clothes this series.
Loved the show though. It's not realistic and people get up in arms about it. Sit back and enjoy the ridiculousness and the fashion!
