I wish Rs didn't fall into the fake controversy over CRT and I support transstudents rights. But VA public schools are messed up and the mask mandate needs to be lifted on kids. The CDC has jumped the shark with the latest statements about masking even after kids are vaccinated. Rates are low and vaccines are imminent, governors need to start announcing off-ramp plans now. I have zero confidence in McAuliffe on these issues.

The only way things will change is if you vote R to send a message of dissatisfaction. I’m like you. That’s what I’m doing. I’m sick of reasonable people like me being taken for granted as democratic votes.

So...you're voting for a Trumper because of...masks? I find that hard to believe.

And you just changed your mind because of the CDC announcement...yesterday?

And "liberals" are getting their news from...National Review?

Totally believable.

McAuliffe is also way ahead in number of donors, because more of his in-state donations are coming from smaller individual donations, while Youngkin is getting fewer donations but they’re coming from more big-money interests. Wealthy people may be able to donate more, but they still only get to vote once.

That was not in the linked article.

You will need to provide a citation.

If you're no longer in the state, you may be less familiar with the fun stuff pushed by local Democrats in VA over the past two years that is pushing many long-time Democratic voters to vote for Youngkin this fall. The level of performative nonsense + utter hypocrisy is over the top.

Tax on plastic bags is being proposed again in Loudoun, and will likely be statewide if McAuliffe and Ds win.

How lightweight you must be that this is the issue you vote on. I’m laughing. I’m amazed you can put two words together and post. Have you seen a farm field after it is harvested? There are hundreds of bags per acre. How many of them are ending up in our food as particulates and in our water shed? I grocery shopped just fine before 1984 when plastic bags took over. You will somehow manage to get the goods home. Vote Youngkin! He’ll protect our plastic bags!

Don’t most people use reusable bags these days anyway?

There is no other issue in VA but Democracy is on the line.

Voting for Youngkin means you are a traitor to the US, you stand with Don the Con and his treason.

At this point in time God help us all if Youngkin wins. GOP will get exactly what they deserve, if you think we have supply chain problems, or school issues, or police issues or anything else they flap about you are not doing your homework.

How many red states have good schools? How many red states treat women well? How many red states believe our election had fraud when it did not? Ohio has Jim Jordan, Texas Gov Abbott, Youngkin will be Abbott and DeSantis rolled into one your children's world will be ruined.

Blue states take care of red states financially. Time to stop that. Time for red states to stand on their own if they want Tratiors like Youngkin.

Any female voting for the guy who is going to take away birth control not just abortion ladies birth control and by the way your jobs because he wants you home barefoot and pregnant well gee ladies go ahead and take us back to the 1940's. UGH

The pandemia is not over and kids need to keep their mask on at school. Precaution doesn’t hurt, being R-neck does.

Oh just stop. Schools in Europe were open throughout the pandemic. Our schools closed because of the Teachers union pressure. Not because of the science.

Lies. Schools in Europe also did distance learning.

Rs can’t campaign without lying.

Youngkin also has said he supports abortion restrictions.

As someone who went with a friend and driver her home after her abortion so she could leave her abusive boyfriend, as will never ever vote for an anti choice candidate. He broke her cheekbone and flushed her pills, but these people don't care. And under that Texas law now someone who did what I did could be sued for 10k.

Voting for Youngkin is horrific.

Texas today no one has a vote anymore. This will be Virginia. Youngkin will do exactly what Abbott just did. He put a Sec of State in that is a Trump supporter of the Big Lie they will not change every election without anyone being able to do anything. Abbott will never leave office. Women in Texas are toast.

Is that what you want for Virginia's children to grow up in a place where Democracy died, where their votes no longer count.

This is not about schools it is about Democracy and you all better wake up because Youngkin will take Virginia back to the dark ages in a jif and there will be no stopping the GOP and their criminal activity.

Yesterday Trump started a social media company with a communist company based out of Wuhan China. The GOP ie Youngkin is the communists and again it's only going to get way worse.

Spare us the whole school issues, Youngkin is going to ruin them his ideas for privatizing schools just means bad schools and money flowing to his pocket.

Come on people see the big picture. Please pay attention you are missing it and when this race is over either China wins or the US? Which are you for?

You keep posting and driving people in the other direction. You just cant help yourself can you? No one is buying what you are selling. Let the people vote for the person they think is right for Virginia. Accept it and move on. I get it you are voting for McAuliffe even though he has very questionable business practices and friends. You do you. Who cares about Trump. He is not on the ticket no matter how much you want him to be. I also hope he does not run in 2024 but this level of division you continue to preach scares me that you are setting the stage for a redo.

Are you being paid by Terry's campaign for this incessant posting? I hope so, because you're devoting quite a bit of your time to life here on DCUM.

Just understand that many (most) of us disagree with you, but if you're at least collecting minimum wage for doing this, carry on.

When this doesn't happen if Youngkin is elected (I don't personally think he has the votes to win), what will you say?

I supported Biden, but OP’s political baloney (barefoot and pregnant?!) that makes me stay at least arms length from the Dumocrats. At this point I plan to vote for Blanding who won’t get elected. Come what may.
