Why do you care?

EXACTLY

Btw-anyone else love the above poster asking about president’s cup? Anonymous but tied to a club (versus a person that can hide behind a computer 100% anonymous and cowardly). I love a real adult asking real questions that are meaningful to their DD team versus how does McLean ECNL or Loudon ECNL or whatever look next year? All ridiculous speculation.

Who knows most likely they will be the same as this year. If you look at the results for the top 3-9 area teams there are a lot of talented girls at various clubs. The pandemic, DA/GA transition and ECNL expansion kept a lot of girls at their clubs. The consolidation of top girls did not happen but may happen going forward. You also have the girls who were good players below u12 but are not doing well on the larger field. Those girls will be moved down along with girls who get replaced by outside the club girls. I do not see any of the lower team(red) field players moving up. GA/ECNL is looking for girls from outside the club.

Each club has a style of play. Arlington style of play is more of an athletic game vs McLean which is more technical. So technical girls from Arlington may go to McLean and athletic but less technical girls from McLean may go to Arlington. Also parents will move their kids to the highest ranked team in the area regardless of how their kid fits in. Arlington is not a top three team. They are in the mix but so are 3-4 other teams.

Bottom line there will be changes to Arlington and other clubs in the area. Maybe ECNL attracts more girls vs GA but there are a lot of ECNL/GA clubs in the area. Because there are so many options for players 1-2 good players leaving or joining a team will have a big impact.

Is it possible parents and players are waking up about GA being a third tier league and the better players from nearby clubs will move to ECNL clubs?

I guess we have to wait and find out

Sure, they will be just like you, chasing a league patch when the talent has already passed your kid by. Like I said, this is the bottom of the class at Cornell talking about how great the Ivy League is. That is the league and here mentality. If your kid is really good, ignore this claptrap lest people think your kid is at the low end of the roster.

Coming from a NOVA grad. Lol. Please. You’d die to send yourself let alone your kid to Cornell. Douche

I think by next year you will see that Arlington 2008 team is among the top 3 in the state. Right now they are relying heavily on one player who is new to the team. Once the team chemistry gets going, the other starters learn to play together more as a "team" and the coach figures out the best positions for everyone they will be hard to beat.

You missed my point completely. Of course Cornell is a great school. But if you went there and later talk about how great it was to be in the Ivy League, I can tell you where your class rank is likely to fall. People who talk about things like that are generally not at the elite end of the talent pool. If you don’t know that, you have either never been to these places or around people who have done really well. And no, we won’t have any problem with our kids succeeding regardless of where they go. Admission and success won’t be a problem. Dealing with success will be the challenge.

Is that why you're in here pounding your chest about ECNL all the time?

You really really missed the point. LEAGUE DOES NOT MATTER IF YOUR KID HAS TALENT. LEAGUES DO NOT COME UP AS A SERIOUS TOPIC IN ANY HOUSEHOLD WITH TALENT. IF YOU ARE INTO LEAGUE PRESTIGE. IT IS A SURE SIGN THAT YOUR KID OR KID'S TEAM IS NOT GOOD. Clear enough?
