DA vs ECNL vs everything else

Are we talking about the Arlington 04 team that is 2nd in their CCL Standings?

who will have the best 06 girls team next year - Arlington DA, Loudoun ECNL, FCV DA? Throw in any other teams if you like. Just curious.

For those with GDA offers, is there a deadline for acceptance.

Are people playing the DA vs ECNL tryout game to accumulate multiple offers prior to making a decision?

I have heard some or definitely doing that.

Is it not ECNL advantage to allow players to play other sports while DA does not allow it? I have heard from some parents, this is a deciding factor to play ECNL.

Spirit had a 48 hr deadline. I did not check to see if it could be extended but based on last year, I would assume the offer was still there but you'd no longer be guaranteed a spot.

You can play other sports in DA. However, you can not play soccer for anyone else...but with a 10 month schedule it would be hard to play anything other than Basketball or another winter sport such as track. .

Hard to play the tryout game with that deadline.

I for one do hope Arlington fields strong teams, because good competition is better for everyone in the league. It could be a wild card. After all, several DA clubs that weren’t in the ECNL turned out to be strong. A PP listed 3, just to illustrate but if we wanted, more could be found by running through the conferences.

However, it is in the very least an unknown. The 3 teams the 03s played were bottom tier DAs, although on that note, it’s a shame the 03s couldn’t cone in for a U17 team. That’d would have been a good experience for the. And they could repeat the year when the 04s are ready.

Speaking of which, I wonder what USSF will do for the older teams to complete the schedule. I’d like to see us play more teams from the NE conference.

Or, to mix it up, head south and play NC Courage??? There are a lot of possibilities.

Youthsoccerrankings.us is the best system we have for making the sorts of predictions made on this board about team performance next year. What is better, word of mouth? You watching a game here or there and spewing unsupportable opinion? If Arlington stays largely intact moving to DA they will be duking it out with Penn Fusion for top of the Atlantic table in GDA 04. Fact not opinion and definitely not propaganda. DD plays for Spirit.

Youth Soccer Rankings is pretty good. If we are going to compare youth soccer teams (and we have and will) it is a way better approach than the ridiculous Got Soccer tournament based points system.

Agreed, but even the youth soccer standings site can only use the games the teams actually play to determine tankings. Has Arlington 04 played games or scrimmages against any ECNL or DA teams? I would think those results could be more informative.

Arlington has probably played a half dozen ECNL teams. They destroyed four local ECNL teams to win the OBGC Labor Day tournament and beat others in another tournament. They just placed 1st in ERL and 2nd in the Nation League. They are a very solid team and will hod their own and then some in DA. The 03 squad is also strong and already played and beat three DA teams in a recent tournament. I see those results and I dismiss anyone who sayd non-DA/ECNL teams can't compete with DA/ECNL. The Arlington 04 and 03 teams prove those folks wrong.

Arlington wins games by pressing very well and playing kickball for offense. That will get them wins but those players aren’t going to get better doing that. Over time their athletes will be passed by by a mile by other athletes that also have technical and tactical abilities. Wins and losses are meaningless at the ages you’re talking about.

Is this the team were talking about...or did Arlington put their 2nd team in CCL?

Don't want to make assumptions.

Yes, the same. Second in CCL behind Beach.

Yeah they have a very American style of play. Good for attaining results but not much else.

So Arlington DA 04 will be fighting Penn Fusion for top spot in the U15 Atlantic Division of the GDA...even though they have one loss and two ties in CCL league play?

Doubt that.

With a 48 hour deadline, second round of offers should be coming out today or tomorrow from Spirit?
