Which specific Democrats are celebrating? Nobody I know is even talking about this.

The ones I have seen celebrating on social media are teachers and professors- people who have no business educating our youth. Some have lost their jobs as a result of their callous posts.

+1.

I was shocked by it yesterday, but I'm already sort of losing interest in it (even though I realize the irony of still posting about it).

I've gotten pretty desensitized to violence, thanks to the country's lack of gun control laws.

So you want to move on from his murder before law enforcement catches his killer?

PP It's not a matter of me *wanting* to move or not move on, I just care less about thinking about his death than I thought I would.

Odd how no one tried to hurt Kirk during all his years of spreading hate and division until he demanded Epstein Files to be released

Inside job

DP. Are they specifically saying they are Democrats? I find this really disingenuous. They could be independents or a disgruntled Trump voter.

Also, even if they announced they’re Dems, a few bad eggs don’t vilify a party of a hundred million +. Surely you know this. It’s just creating the divisiveness this disgusting shooter wanted. Don’t give him the satisfaction.

In the past 24 hours, I have seen hundreds of clips of Charlie being interviewed and debating with people who have different opinions.
The thing I notice is how his words are not personal - he expresses his views and opinions but never denigrates the person he is debating with. He treats everyone with respect.
This is why so many young college students are so devastated by his assassination. They may not have agreed with him, but they respected him.

Things that make ya go hmm.

See also an Israeli newspaper was first to report Kirk’s death & Bibi’s serial tweets about Kirk like 20 min after? Very, very weird.

And what about his actual words about women, minorities, non Christians and gay people?

Who were TPUSA’s biggest financial backers? Who actually controls the show? Kirk didn’t even go to college. It was a $100M year operation.

Charlie wasn’t a candidate for public office.

Charlie wasn’t a corporate executive, supposedly personally “responsible” for any negative effects of corporate policies.

Charlie wasn’t a foreign diplomat or staff to whom blame for that foreign nation’s policies could be ascribed.

No, Charlie was an advocate for his faith and his political beliefs, as well as for open and cordial debate about both. This was a political assassination at its most basic core - not because someone was angry about a policy that Charlie had enacted, or that he was currently facilitating, or that he might in the future implement - but rather for no other reason than the public expression of his ideas. He was shot because of his discussions about his beliefs and for no other reason; and that should be a wake up call for all of us, right and left.

This will not end well.

Come on now, there was nothing cordial about the way he “debated.” He argued in bad faith, always.

That doesn’t mean he deserved to be killed — quite the opposite. But let’s not pretend like he was a kind, gentle soul.

So untrue. He was always kind and respectful to those he debated. Quieted the crowd to let them speak. He was a kind man.

We can debate this tomorrow.

Is it 48 hours? I thought it was 24

Yes. I have 2 high schoolers. He was a name to me. Not to them apparently. They messaged me about the shooting and are outraged. Their friends are outraged. They kept saying last night how he is always polite and will talk to anyone.

Many successful people didn’t go to college.

That’s kinda a low bar. No, he didn’t call people names, but to suggest he was open minded and willing to learn is just plain wrong. Thats not respect. His job was to indoctrinate students in conservative politics. He said very disparaging things to people who debated him, especially women and POC.

He saves the vitriol for his podcast.

He comes across well in those debate formats, but I can assure you that he has said some vile things in tweets, podcasts, and interviews. When we are allowed to do so, some of us will post those.

Someone posted upthread they knowingly took millions from Russia for a disinformation campaign. Probably major GOP donors.
