You might want to check your assumptions. GA will have more teams in the DC DMV area than ECNL, resulting in less travel. As for quality, I'd reserve judgement on that as well until we see how rosters shake out over the spring and summer. Several strong GA teams in the area are forming and my observations after witnessing several ID sessions of ECNL and GA is that the good GA teams will be on-level and in some cases better than their local ECNL counterparts.

On a GA team currently - this is false. Gap is a gulf. Not sure soccer is even played in GA. ECNL is not that much better but the difference is night and day at HS level play.

Did your kid end up trying out and making an ECNL team for the upcoming year to resolve your dissatisfaction?

Wouldn't you like to know. I hope DD is good enough to make it in the big bad ECNL....again.

The conferences are going to re-align, and the NC teams will not go to Alabama anymore.

Who will be in the new ga conference alignment?

Most likely

WAKE FC
South Carolina Surf
Charlotte Development Academy
One Knoxville
Triangle United
Nashville United

this would assume they also move Pinecrest (FL) to a new conference. Florida should have its own conference:

IMG
Pinecrest
Florida United
Florida United
Palm Beach

I suspect there are few ECNL RL teams in FL looking to move to GA who aren't getting promoted to ECNL giving those 5 above some easy wins

then your looking at int he future possible Orlando City, Jacksonville and Tampa Bay from ECNL girls moving over since they currently have MLSN.

Will the ga association with mls next change the landscape of ecnl? ECNL girls seems to be shooting itself in the foot with their club requirement to maintain both boys and girls programs.

Doesn't make a lot of sense as the TN teams play fall high school. They were lumped in a last minute conference for just this year. As GA grows more likely they align the VA/NC teams as both play same season of high school. And MD/PA go separate
