It's unbelievable. First, the sheer number of times she yawns and then the
Amazing sounds she makes while doing so! Moans, cries - I should put it on YouTube. Trying hard to appreciate and not get irritated. |
| That should be *so* loudly. |
|
I love a good yawn. Did one after reading your post!
....just did another one.
|
|
My father-in-law does this. It is so rude.
Please someone give me a suggestion about what I can say to him to (politely) remind him how ride this is! (I realize this is rude itself, but I still want to tell him.) |
| I feel for you, OP...my husband roars when he sneezes. So does my dad and my son. Why do people have to scream when they sneeze? |
| Can you toss something in her mouth while she is yawning? |
Oh, that gave me a good laugh!!! |
My FIL, too! He also burps loudly and often, and falls asleep sitting up several times, and moans and groans in general. I always wonder if he heads himself, and if anyone else gets nauseous being in the same room with him. |
| ^^^"hears" himself, not "heads," sorry! |
|
Both my parents do this! Drives me crazy.
But my dad also has this GREAT habit of chewing on ice. Oh.my.God. This summer we were on a two hour car trip and he got a 32 ounce diet coke, but filled it mainly with ice and just a bit of diet coke. I swear for over 30 minutes he just crunched, crunched, crunched on ice. Funny that there are habits in other people that wouldn't grate on us nearly as much as our folks. I love them to death but man can they push my buttons. Kinda like my kids can do that. FAMILY! |
| yes, stick your finger in her mouth when she does this! in my family there is plenty of lip smacking and grunting/clearing throat while eating - disgusting! |
| My mother belches, yawns, sputters, and talks incessantly. It's exhausting just being around her. |
| My mother also does the loud moaning yawn! I caught myself doing it a few years ago, and put an immediate STOP to it. So I suppose I should thank her: if she didn't do it, I would, and I wouldn't know how incredibly annoying it is. |
I've heard that this is due to an otherwise-harmless fungus (?) that colonizes the nasal passages. That's why some people do it and others don't. No idea if it's true or not. |
| DH and MIL both do the same thing--makes me crazy. Its probably DH's most annoying habit, which I guess isn't too bad. I hope it doesn't pass down to the next generation. |
