| You will miss that lawn when she isn't here anymore |
| My mother claims she roars when she yawns/sneezes because otherwise she would wet her pants. |
You should hand her some Depends and ask to test her theory. |
| Not trying to be unempathetic, OP, but I wish with all my heart that my mother were still around so that I could hear her yawn. She could yawn all she liked. I'd welcome any and all irritations. |
Is anyone else thinking of the "my kid won't quit jumping on the bed"/ "just be glad your child has legs!" interaction from another thread ages ago? |
Just reading OPs post two days after the Thanksgiving that I, once again, spent without a mother in my life, made me teary and sad and miss her horribly. Sorry my post made you feel - well, whatever it made you feel. Hope you recover and go on to live a happy life. |
yes. there's always at least one post like this. person A: "my day was rough. I got into a car accident" person B: "be lucky you have a car to wreck!"/"i got diagnosed with cancer!"/"my son just totaled my car! I bet yours was only a scratch" |
Yes, and there's always at least one post like this: person A: X person B: this makes me think about Y person troll: Ack! You're thinking about Y! You're not allowed to think about Y! No one's allowed to think about Y!! This exchange is about X and ONLY X, and no divergence will be allowed. NONE! |

Pp is right. My mom has so many irritating habits, but I put them in perspective, and that's how I survive them.

To those that have lost your parents, I'm so sorry. But the beauty and joy of this thread is that some of us are able to take for granted our parent's little annoying, quirky habits. That's not a bad thing.
You are free to start your own thread about memories of your parents or dealing with the loss that has a more serious tone, but I for one am enjoying this light thread about how family can push our buttons more than anyone else. |

My mom has this thing where she assumes people can't hear her if she is not talking directly to them. It's not like she regularly rude or talks shit about people but it can still be awkward. "Psst....Mom, they can hear you."
My dad is a wonderful grandfather, but he simply can't avoid riling kids up before bedtime. Not a great time for tickle monster Dad, or to start chasing them around the house, or offering them treats! |
| I occasionally yawn very very loudly, sounds like a lion roaring, and it is 100% involuntary. |
|
HA - that is such a end-of-Thanksgiving-weekend comment. Love it.
My FIL makes so much noise when he chews, I can't believe I haven't lost my shit about it out loud at the table yet. I've only been listening to it for, oh, 15 years now, so there's years to go. Watch out. I swear to god, there is gravel in his jaw bone. |
Yep. Took the post right out of my mouth. |
| My mom always ends her meal by blowing her nose at the table into her napkin. Been doing this for years. Grosses me out every time. |
