These yards are tiny. A lot of them are 1/4 acre. It is basically a fake single family home. You might as well buy a townhouse. |
I don’t want a bigger yard |
My lot is almost a 1/2 acre. Plenty big enough for me |
+1 |
Not if you want your mail delivered. |
My address on my mail and my driver’s license says North Potomac.
I get my mail and all government documents just fine. North Potomac is a real area whether you want to accept it or not. |
It's a beautiful community. but some places I feel in the newer areas the spacing could have been better. |
I think that’s fair. A few more feet between the houses would have been appreciated (especially on Ankonian). Still, I think it will look a lot better as the trees start to grow. All new home communities look strange in the beginning. I previously lived in Kentlands/Lakelands when it was first developed. The street trees are huge now, but back in the day it looked very different. |
Does anyone know the mail box situation for the windmills? I don’t see any mail boxes at the homes. |
All homes in new developments use cluster boxes. It’s a USPS rule - the developer and homeowners have no ability to change it. |

Just noticed there are a bunch of townhomes that sold for around 200k each in mt prospect. Does anyone know what is up with that? Are they made by toll brothers? Never saw them on the website. Just curious |
wont those homes bring down the value of the community? They are literally 200 dollars a square foot or cheaper |
Yes, they’re part of MoCo’s required MPDU (Moderately Priced Dwelling Unit) program and are purchased through the county. Toll builds them. They’re small, but affordable and a fantastic way for people who couldn’t normally afford a home in this area to live in a beautiful, safe neighborhood. As a Windmill resident, I can say that the homes blend in well within the community. The residents are just like everyone else - great neighbors! |
Is this a new rule for the entire US or specific areas? I haven’t noticed these until recently for new SFH communities. |
