Fire in upper NW?

How did the perps get to the house in the first place?

Likely it was far more than the 40K-that house was likely loaded with more cash, jewlry. and other valuable items-perhaps the first perp left with a load of stuff and took the Porshe and the other stayed later to set the house on fire and kill everyone (or ake sure they were dead).

This case just feels so different from the urgency from a few weeks ago, when the inmate who was being treated at Inova Fairfax Hospital escaped. Remember that? It was a breaking news story with updates every few minutes. I actually stayed home with my kids that day, as we lived not too far from the hospital and no one knew where that guy had gone or what he would do.

I agree that this is bizarre. Why would someone capable of this who needed to escape/cover it up not be capable of more similar acts, even if the crimes were personal? I think they must be in custody already.

They likely had a key or were well known to the family-worked there etc...

They killed 4 people including a child for just $40K? Even wealthy people don't usually keep large amounts of cash lying around.
Pure evil. I hope they nail the perps.

No, I mean how did they get to the neighborhood? They stole the Porsche as their getaway car...so how did they get to the house in the first place?

It is scary when a perp. who committed such a heinous act is not caught and still on the loose-The Rockville case was equally frightening-much relief after that animal was caught-to think he lived righ next door (though was aprehended in Alaska).

I don't know anyone who has tons of valuables, and keeps their valuables in their house, so I am totally confused about this case.

Why on earth would people keep cash on the premises, in this day and age? Or jewelry they are not wearing often? The only thing of value I can think that would be on hand would be art, and art is not something I imagine a thief taking, for logistics reason.

They may have been dropped of. It's also pretty easy to get to that neighborhood by bus.

That doesn't look like it is near the house. More than likely that video is the perp running from the church parking lot into the back lot of the business's right next to it..In the video you will see the back doors to business's and a commercial dumpster..not residential

Walk, metro, bus, cab, dropped off by someone-maybe it was the vacuum people or the prowler of something-tons of lawn folk and contractors coming and going as well. This seems like an inside job.

It already has been confirmed to be near where the car was ditched.

I read earlier that the housekeeper that died husband saw two cars when he went to the house. One was in the driveway and the Porsche was on the road. Don't know if the other car was SS's or not. I still can't figure out why the perp took the Porsche and had it for HOURS. If the left the house at say 1pm..the car wasn't found until 5:30pm engulfed in flames. I can't believe this person (s) was that brazen to drive around and risk getting pulled over...that blue Porsche stands out.

it must have been more than the 40K they were after.

based on all we have heard so far about the 40k (it was not unusual for cash packages to be dropped off, the cash drop off was pre-arranged, the assistant brought the cash with seemingly no questions asked) it seems probable to me that SS could have had the assistant secure the $$ and drop off the 40k earlier...

so, if the killers got to the house on Wed. afternoon, it seems that both the S family AND the killers would want to get the whole thing done and over w/ as quickly as possible so they would immediately make the request for the cash drop off on Wed. afternoon/evening. The only reasons I can think of that they would wait til Thurs would be if the killers deemed it too suspicious to have the drop off Wed night for some reason or if the killers were really after more than the 40k. Otherwise, why would they risk staying at the S house for so long and having such a higher likelihood of being discovered the longer they stayed
