This team is such an interesting one. You can bet that Bethesda coaches have tried to entice some of their players over to strengthen its own 2014 year, but from what I've heard the Potomac 2014s are determined to stick together for now. They seem to be doing really well. I do wonder what would happen if a strong Bethesda team banded together in that way and jumped ship (like some Rush girls did to Potomac) if they had concerns about one of the many BSC coaches mentioned on this forum. Clearly success can be had outside of the club, and the BSC 2014s have not been able to beat the Potomac 2014s. There is strength in numbers, but doubtful a strong BSC core will ever jump together because it would be deemed too risky by the parents. It's an interesting thought though, looking at this Potomac 2014 model. Good point from PP that seeing if their development continues at this level in Aspire will be interesting to watch.

I guess this was supposed to be a burn? But it looks like "little girl soccer" either excites or interests a whole lot of parents of little kid soccer players, which is why this forum exists and this thread is on page 135.

Interesting. I heard the boys U12 top team has been lost a few players because of parents desire for their kids to play up in 11v11.

Nevertheless, parents are going to learn the hard way about thinking they know more about development than people who have actually developed hundreds of players.

Poor example. If you are insinuating those parents forced the issue, you are wrong. The club came to those parents just as the club has done with other current players. If the player performs, there shouldn’t be issue. Playing up occurs at countless clubs around the area.

Have you been following along. This thread is called Bethesda on its way down. Pretty sure egotistical coaches aren’t accepting the “demands” of little boys and girls parents. They aren’t catering to parents, they want wins anyway they see fit

Depends on the situation. We are still in YDP so I think this only applies to the 2016’s who would not have any competition playing their own age group.

The hard part is if there are 9 kids ready to play up a year and three are not, the 3 parents who are not ready are going to sit in their feelings more than trusting the process and developing at their own pace on a lower level team.

I grew up watching Saved By the Bell and that show shows the equivalent emotional maturity of 98% of high-level soccer players parents, not just BSC parents.
