Among SNAP recipients? Are you sure?

The majority view is that the shutdown is the President's fault.

Good. Then STFU about it. It's benefitting you. So why keep whining about it?

Because American children need food to eat. Right now. Today. Not everything is about political positioning. Everyone should be "whining" about this. Loudly and constantly until poor people have access to food.

It’s because they run into the snap recipient on a regular basis.

The billionaire at best is a mythical creature that can give them money.

US born citizens are entitled to SNAP and should get it.

Not expecting both immigrants and billionaires to not rely on middle class to fund their lifestyles is reasonable.

Worrying about the scraps the poor (US citizens or otherwise) receive marks you for a fool. The rich and powerful are selling this country down the river, destroying the environment, and ruining your kids’ and grandkids’ futures RIGHT NOW.

For the love of God, pull your head out of your @$$.

Worrying about what a random person on the Internet prioritizes in politics marks you for a fool. I dont want either group taking advantage of the middle class taxpayers. IDGAF what you think I should care about.

Typical. Rather than engage in some introspection and face the humiliation of having been hoodwinked, you prefer to double down on your (obviously) incorrect position.

This is exactly how we ended up with Trump 2.0. People like you are too emotionally fragile and insecure to ever admit (even to yourself) that you were wrong.

People can engage in introspection and still come to a different conclusion than you. You are not right simply because you believe it so. Perhaps Democrats lost because of their arrogance similar to what you are displaying here. You need some introspection about that.

“Democratic arrogance” is code for “I know that you’re more intelligent than me and I resent you for it.”

You don’t need to keep telling on yourself. We liberal elites are perceptive enough to see you for what you are.

For someone claiming high intelligence, you have yet to write anything of substance to make your point. It's weird that you seem to think people would believe that you're intelligent based on what you've written here. But go on

I am not trying to convince you of anything, dear. I’m simply stating facts. Your insistence that “your” opinion on anything is worth reading would be cute if you were a child, but it’s just sad for a grown adult.

You can clearly read, at least, so that’s a good start. Pull yourself up by your bootstraps, head on down to your socialist public library, and put the work in to educate yourself before you speak again.

You also rely on the government to put systems in place so that you can eat. The lack of self awareness of how close to SNAP recipients you actually are is staggering.

We choose to be capitalists and that system requires a lot of low wage workers. In exchange, the least we can do is ensure they are fed and have healthcare . The most efficient way to do that is via the federal government.

Yet another post without substance. Perhaps you should use the local library resources to learn how to craft an argument.

Interesting, all the SNAP recipients I know are white MAGAs.

Eating means not getting sick, and staying alive. A pony is entertainment.

Why can all other fully developed countries take care of citizens' basic necessities for survival, but we can't?

Hey why can other countries figure this out, but we can't?

Also, where did a Somali restaurant get $12 million in federal money to feed poor people, especially now? What program was still functioning like that with the federal government shut down?

I’m sure the tens of thousands of American children who rely on snap will benefit from this wisdom. Until then, the guy you voted for, is making the choice to let them starve.

Is “honest” what we’re now calling ignorance? Being food insecure in America also correlates with eating cheaper, processed foods. Some may “starve”. Others who are obese, or who have hypertension, or who have diabetes, will likely become sicker — either from eating poorer diets or from not eating at all. Yes, this is a crisis the Republicans are deliberately creating— just as they’re trying to force the Democrats to give up their push for extending healthcare benefits.

People ok snap aren’t buying heathy foods. They are just buying even more junk food. It is literally driving the obesity epidemic higher than ever. If you are on snap because it has been deemed you cannot afford to feed yourself, yet you are able to consume so much extra food/calories that you are now weigh twice what you should; then there is a giant problem with snap- in how much is allocated and what it is used to purchase.
