That's been a running theme since the inception of the series: Carrie is such a fashionista ![]() |
Cynthia Nixon was on WWHL the other night and she looked so great. Her hair is shorter, strawberry blonde. She was so energetic and upbeat. I wish there was more of her in the character. |
It's not that she has no sense, it's that she would rather die than wear functional flats. Which is in keeping with her character from day 1. Fashion trumps comfort (and most things) in her life. I agree though that it didn't work. A lot of what they're doing is falling flat because it's a facsimile of the original with none of the spark. |
It was stupid. I know tons of women who are obsessed with fashion and even work in the industry. Nobody would wear heels to paint. Full make up and hair? Sure—but knowingly ruin your shoes? No. |
Especially after they just had back surgery! |
It is really SO Carrie, though. Remember she even wore heels to go walk all through the city in this iteration of the show - she said they were more comfortable than sneakers for her. And wearing those big silver heels with overalls was very Carrie. |
This show is getting hard to watch. And that is coming from someone who watched every episode of SATC at least 5 times. It was and still is my favorite show to watch when I'm bored.
I like all of the new ladies they brought in (except Che) - they have become more relatable than Carrie, Miranda and even Charlotte at this point. |
NP. You made a point, and couldn't handle that someone else had a different take on it. Why can't the other poster state her opinion without you insisting on making your point again? |
I really miss Old Miranda. She would have had some witty one liner dig to describe New Miranda. It's hard to believe they are supposed to be the same character. |
Yes, I like Seema too. |
I feel like cynthia Nixon desire to play her own life story took precedence over a rich and more fitting character arc for Miranda. Which is unfortunate. And sort of narcissistic. |
Also, Carrie has always been a mix of vintage and trendy, and designer sneakers are at least very trendy right now. You’d think she’d own ONE pair. |
This- I posted a few pages back about this. There are so many design-y- sneakers right now. She could have at least worn some vintage Tretorns or Stan Smiths, or platform sneakers. |
That was months ago and within the timeline of the doctor. That’s my big beef with this series, the timeline is all over the place and they drop story lines that would help with continuity. |
Absolutely! If Cynthia is anything IRL like she's portraying Miranda on AJLT, then yikes. |
