Regardless, I don’t care about his rating for the VA election. Youngkin is fully in on trump’s plan to eliminate the integrity of our elections. Youngkin is fully in on stoking and fueling culture wars that are promoted in right wing media.

He is all wrong for VA and i hope Democrats turn out and Independents think of all the big issues at stake in protecting our democracy and our civility.

Why are there no Republicans who will stand up for voting rights? The old Republican party had no problem reauthorizing federal voting rights bills. Why are there no Republicans who will stand against climate change? Why do they refuse to govern and avoid helping solve the country’s problems?

It's interesting that the Democrats on the FCPS School Board want to impose new identification requirements to speak at public meetings but similar ID requirements to vote, if supported by some Republicans, are viewed as disenfranchisement.

Your one-sided comments suggest it's people like you who are the problem.

Are you ignorant of or in denial about the Koch-funded astroturfing leading to threats of violence against school board members across the country, as well as “concerned parents” who don’t have kids in the school district?

That's can't be good for McAuliffe as Election Day approaches, especially since one of the main reasons for Biden's sliding ratings - an inability to get "big" things done that he promised to pull off and a tolerance for left-wing nonsense - is also McAuliffe's only argument for another term and his own soft spot. It's not like he's likable at all or has a compelling personal story.

But see, I'm a normal average joe voter who doesn't keep up with things like approval ratings. If I hadn't read it here, I never would have known. Also, most normal average joes vote along party lines pretty strictly.

Biden's rating could be 25% and I would still never vote Youngkin over McAuliffe.

No longer in the state, but I will never ever ever vote for a Republican again. They are too low, too stupid, too treasonous, too corrupt and too antidemocratic for me to ever fill in a circle for them again. And I used to be a Republican. Never again.

If you're no longer in the state, you may be less familiar with the fun stuff pushed by local Democrats in VA over the past two years that is pushing many long-time Democratic voters to vote for Youngkin this fall. The level of performative nonsense + utter hypocrisy is over the top.

Lol. Why would you assume that? And you may be okay with the GOP’s fascist practices now, but I’m not. I have principles.

That is wonderful. Not everyone agrees with you. What a great country! Am I right?

It's not "right" to attack our democratic ideals.

How could any American support the GOP trying to throw out election results without any evidence of fraud?

I’d love to hear how Rs support this. How exactly do you rationalize it?

We don't. And what pp said is not happening.

All the elected Republicans do. And yes it is happening. Georgia’s law allows the state legislature to replace local election boards. Arizona’s law allows the state legislature to throw out actual election outcomes. Pay attention.

So pedantic. I refuse to be held hostage to far-left ideologues based on speculation as to what might happen in a state that needs to go back to being purple again.

Attacking our democratic ideals is “pedantic”? GMAFB.

Pay attention. This is the primary focus of the GOP. “Election Integrity”
https://www.pewtrusts.org/en/research-and-analysis/blogs/stateline/2021/07/28/republican-legislators-curb-authority-of-county-state-election-officials?amp=1
Republican lawmakers this year passed an unprecedented bevy of bills targeting the authority of state and local election officials, a power grab that might allow partisan legislators to overturn future election results by claiming there was fraud.

VA is not that blue. We need a D governor to prevent this from happening. (And to veto R attacks on women).

Completely disingenuous argument - when you REGISTER to vote in VA you have to provide your name, SSN, DOB, address, and you affirm an oath that the information you provide is true under penalty of a felony if you lie.

I support the requirement to be a taxpaying resident of the county if you want to speak at a school board meeting.

What’s disingenuous is your failure to acknowledge that the additional requirements that the Democratic school board is now proposing are more rigorous than the affirmation you just described when registering to vote. Do you lie about everything in service to McAuliffe’s political ambitions, or just some things?

Also, there is already a requirement in Fairfax to be a county (or Fairfax City) resident to speak before the school board. The additional requirements proposed by the board are largely for show, in order to create the false impression that prior speakers who disagreed with some of their decisions were not county residents.

Right. Totally ridiculous. To vote, you can roll up with no ID and say you are Santa Claus. To speak at a school board meeting (particularly if it’s something negative about our heroes, the teachers), you need a retina scan, a background check, a casting of your molars. Please. This has gotten ridiculous.

I heard that Barack Obama, Dr Jill Biden, Governor Stacy Abrahms and Dave Matthews (the musician) will now be hitting the trail to campaign for Terry.

This will get voters pumped up to support our Progressive agenda!

LOL.

Terry is bringing in the big guns. How many of them are from Virginia?

It’s the Defund the Police world tour. Notice that they left Joe Biden off the agenda since his poll numbers stink.

Her last speech was about how the Georgia election was “stolen” from her. McAuliffe just nodding his head (and looking slimey usual) behind her. Don’t quite understand the purpose of her speech. Oh well. She needs to be masked, though. Too many COVID comorbidities and high risk behavior.

Ugh, wake up! Did you notice that Senate Republicans voted against even considering Manchin’s compromise voting protection bill today? Not a one wanted to even discuss it! Check out Independent Angus King’s speech today warning about the threat to democracy in America, including state legislators choosing electors they want rather than based on the election outcome. This is not hypothetical— this is what Republicans are doing.

Wow, never realized that Stacey and Trump have so much in common. They both have elections that were stolen from them. Imagine that.

You're aware that they check votes and will throw out the one from Santa Claus? There's a reason that Virginia has fair elections. It's not an accident. And it doesn't need to be dismantled by a Trumper.
