This 10 hour number is repeated over and over, why?

I am wondering this as well...it had to be at least 22 hours or so based on all the info we have (deceased housekeeper was still there when killers showed up and she was supposed to have gotten off work at 3pm wed., fire not reported til sometime after 1PM Thurs.) what am I missing?

Is that just speculation? I really am having trouble with this.

Maybes its just me, but id rather talk about catching the criminals than discussing the torture details of the 10 year old .thx

This leads me back to AIW. Someone there knew the money was going out. Maybe it was supposed to go to Chantilly and the assistant was already planning on that when they got the call to just drop it at the house. Plus we all assume it was just in some package on the porch. Maybe they had a box it was put in on the porch.

Yes, Mr. S. could have said "I don't want you to come in and catch something -- my wife has got a terrible case of the flu -- but put it through the mail slot."

You can do that in the other thread.

PP here. I am sorry, I posted because I wanted to hear this was just speculation. I agree completely that discussing anything further about this would not serve any purpose. RIP little angel.

Most likely, less than 40,000 assuming it is divided among more than one murderer.

There has been talk of a safe in the house. Has this been confirmed in media reports? Could it be that they also took money from a safe in the house. I would like to believe there was more than $40k involved here. (like $40k plus money in a safe....?)

This article says that all 4 victims were dead before fire started.

When murdered housekeeper's husband went to the home Thursday morning, he said he saw Porsche was parked on the street (as well as the father's car at the home). I don't know how perps could get into the car on the street without being seen in broad daylight.

Also, police kept asking for public to help determine whereabouts of Porsche from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. when car was found burning. Perps must have left home at 10:30 a.m., right? So they somehow set up the fire with a delayed combustion (cigarette+gasoline)? I don't know anything about arson, but is that possible? Or would it take more premeditation to pull off a delayed fire.

They were likely seen but people have to A) notice, B) remember and C) come forward. I think A and B seem to be difficult.

Seen by whom? Are there neighbors who sit outside watching over all the homes in the area? Who would be calling in?

all it takes is one person walking a dog, or passing them while driving in the street

I agree.

Although I don't know about every Latino and Black person out there but I do know that many "new rich" from the post-communist countries prefer to send their kids to boarding schools in England and Switzerland.
And the fact that the family sent two older girls to two DIFFERENT boarding schools might be indeed because the family lived in fear all along... Or not but it sure fits the picture.

And where is the Wiki page for the crime? Wikipedia is usually so fast to react to any news story and there is no page after almost a week.. There must be a lot of behind the scenes discussions at Wiki right now..

such a ridiculous thing to say. there are sick, depraved, awful people of every racial and ethnic group, sadly. there are plenty of instances of latino and black people (and white and Asian and every other racial or ethnic group) doing horrible things to people, yes, including children.

There is a cultural profile for crime; it is not required that every single person of the race or cultural background conform to the profile, rather it is that there is a general pattern for the group--such as white male mass shootings, rappers shooting at concerts and funerals, etc. There is a science behind it used by law enforcement all over the world whether you like it or not. Of course it is not foolproof, but it is valid and useful.

ok, that is a much more coherent, useful response re: cultural profile for crime but that is NOT what the poster who started this discussion on race said. their statement that 'there is no scenario where this (a latino or black person torturing/killing a child) would happen' IS ridiculous.

I am the poster who both started this and gave you the cultural crime explanation. Admittedly my first comment was hyperbolic, but the other cases being cited on here are distinguishable from this one in too many ways for me to go into here. I stand by my assertion.
