I see lawn crews sitting down to eat lunch at a site if it is lunch time. Happens all the time in my neighborhood. They probably got pissed off at the delay then started prepping the fire scenario.

So, yes, the question of safety comes to mind in this case - and ultimately that is exactly what have happened...

Given all the discussion regarding the climate at NCS, I didn't find it surprising. I also grew up with girls who went to boarding school. Some girls want to go away for school.

No but are all the siblings you know the same? The Peddie school is better known and I assume more difficult to get into. There are so many factors with admissions, who knows if this was on purpose? The girls are close in age. They might have chosen different schools to reduce sibling rivalry.

Yes. It happens often. I went to Beauvoir and then NCS. Plenty of my friends stayed at NCS/STA after Beauvoir, while some of their siblings went off to boarding school. Usually the younger sibling would hear about older sibling's great time at boarding school, and want to go as well. Siblings going to different boarding schools isn't strange at all. What works for one person might not work for someone else.

such a ridiculous thing to say. there are sick, depraved, awful people of every racial and ethnic group, sadly. there are plenty of instances of latino and black people (and white and Asian and every other racial or ethnic group) doing horrible things to people, yes, including children.

There is a cultural profile for crime; it is not required that every single person of the race or cultural background conform to the profile, rather it is that there is a general pattern for the group--such as white male mass shootings, rappers shooting at concerts and funerals, etc. There is a science behind it used by law enforcement all over the world whether you like it or not. Of course it is not foolproof, but it is valid and useful.

I think the people who did this are low life idiots like the ones who killed the Petit family or the other family in Richmond. totally no concern for human lives, so they can kill an entire family for nothing, and profoundly dumb. they ordered pizza because they were hungry and probably have been eating junk food all their lives (so no raiding the refrigerator and cook) and knew they had to stay there until the morning to get the money. it is pretty obvious why they left the money outside. they did not want to be recognized, and likely it would have been obvious to anybody at first sight that they did not belong to a $4.5 million home

ok, that is a much more coherent, useful response re: cultural profile for crime but that is NOT what the poster who started this discussion on race said. their statement that 'there is no scenario where this (a latino or black person torturing/killing a child) would happen' IS ridiculous.
