Ah, that seems plausible re: knife. I think they had a pool broadcast re: Depp case, no? Also circuit court. Of course, there has to be a solid arrest re: the stabbing first. |
Wasn't Christine an advocate for sex assault survivors in a prior job? She seems like such a caring person. Wonder if she had any inkling that she was married to a monster? |
Is there a theory out there on why someone like Joe who provided fetish services who then turn crazy and try to kill a customer? Is the theory that BB just thought he was trying to kill her even if he wasn’t?
Trying to understand what a juror would think given the facts presented even if there is nothing more that comes to light? |
I’m a bit of a true crime addict, began in my youth when I read F Lee Bailey’s The Defense Never Rests and Fatal Vision about the Jeffrey MacDonald case. I’m convinced that early experience is at the root of my aversion to marriage for myself - growing up in a home with parents in an abusive marriage I knew that it could be very obvious how much of a monster a man was and some women would stay anyway, but I was unnerved by the idea of being married and believing it to be happy and then to meet one’s end at the hands of one’s beloved husband. I’ve seen thousands of hours of Datelines et al., not just the American ones but sister programs from all over the globe. Oh and I spent several years as a prosecutor, too. I know that many, many women sleep every night next to their eventual killer without having a clue that there is *that* kind of monster behind his mask. I’m typing this from my cozy bed where I am cuddled up next to my super affection and endlessly loyal border collie mix. Would not trade her for any man. |
One of Joe’s friend said very early on that Joe had told him he was going into a crazy situation that day with a married couple- a cuckhold scenario. So it would not have been weird for the husband to enter the room. |
The gun BB used is job issued. It surely has more than 1 bullet loaded at a time. |
For example,
https://thegunzone.com/what-glock-do-police-use/ Any reason for AP to use a gun was invented by BB. |
Oh wow. I'm starting to wonder if the police don't have a whole, whole lot of evidence but are hoping to turn Magalhes just to make it airtight or a capital murder charge? I'm very interested to know what device(s) were used to create the fake profile for Christine and what device(s) were used to post/message. |
The NBC News article today said a computer in the home was used to create the profile.
|
Probably discarded but law enforcement would still be able to get a lot of information if BB and the AP had been using those phones in a normal way prior to discarding them. |
That's my theory - that Banfield set this up for Magalhes to do it alone but Magalhes chickened out. Then they panicked and had Magalhes get her gun as planned and fire a shot, but didn't think through how that was going to look upon investigation. Because a story of a hero au pair killing an intruder with a gun she kept securely locked up until needed is a great narrative and all the pieces click. |
I personally am concerned the police don’t have more info. They seem to relying on flipping the AP a lot. Why not share all their evidence and really scare her that she better cooperate or she is toast.
And the 5 year daughter could have and still could be in danger with such a psycho. I would especially have been worried when the AP and BB were shacking up that the daughter would be another victim. I really hope I am wrong. Even if they don’t have more, I still think there is enough to charge him. And let a jury decide. |
So the fun was never in the safe per your theory? Why not say she had her own gun on her when she thought there was an intruder ? |
Charge him with what, though? How do you link him to the stabbing? If they share all their evidence with AP they might as well hand it over to BB at the same time. |
