I’m very naive. Help me understand this. Who are the people expected to go nuts in the streets of Kenosha when the verdict is handed down? Are they only expecting one of the two sides (the “sides” being pro acquittal versus pro conviction) to protest if the outcome doesn’t go their way? Or are authorities anticipating rioting regardless of the verdict, meaning the verdict will merely determine which side starts rioting? Or are they simply expecting the usual suspects (convicts, thieves, miscreants, ne’er-do-wells, the mentally ill) to capitalize on any excuse to wreak havoc? |
Some of that probably comes down to profit motive. Opinion is cheap to produce and probably more likely to get viewers emotionally invested enough to watch through the commercials. Producing straight news is easier when you get national license fee funding. |
Pretty sure they didn’t send anyone home. |
Of course everyone expects the left to riot and destroy the city the way they always do when something doesn’t go their way. They have the intelligence and maturity of small children. Everyone is expecting an acquittal because the prosecution has no case and everyone knows that. |
It's not like their football team won a championship or something. |
You would quite literally have to be EXTREMELY STUPID to go an riot in Kenosha (or anywhere) after this verdict. If you learned nothing else from this trial, you should have figured out one thing: Don't go to places where people are looting and rioting if you want to stay alive!
I mean, at it's most basic level, the lesson here is: STAY AWAY FROM RIOTING! |
If a white dude has a gun, the lesson will be to shoot him before he shoots you. He has a license to kill you with impunity, so you'd better shoot first. |
![]() I like that the gun Kyle had is legal and the judge dismissed all the gun charges. Another lie destroyed. Binger had his damn finger on the trigger, pointing Kyle’s gun around the courtroom today. What an absolute tool. He’s definitely one of dcum’s finest. |
You do realize that your right to self defense does not go out the window because you are kid who is in the wrong place. If you try to attack a 17 year old on the Metro who just jumped a Metro turnstile the kid can still defend himself even though he jumped a turnstile. The reasoning by some people is completely out of wack and has no bearing to the law. I also don’t get how the white kid who killed the child molesting white guy with a shaved head who was shouting n words that night is the “white supremacist.” |

US news outlets skew left because reality skews left. Most of the conservative outlets are far more about opinions and propaganda than they are about reporting straight facts. That started with repeal of the fairness doctrine and the emergency of cable news networks that were no longer beholden to the stricter rules about truth and fairness that broadcast networks have. That's not to say there aren't left leaning outlets that are also about opinions and propaganda but overall trustworthy media will favor the perspectives of the left than it will those of the right. |
Obviously, he wanted the jury to feel the fear that others felt when Kyle pointed a gun at them, to make the jury identify with the victims, but you just can’t do that. It’s so reckless. Especially so soon after the shooting on Alec Baldwin’s movie set, I would have freaked out if I was on the jury. That’s crazy. Did the judge admonish him? |
The medical examiner in the Kyle Rittenhouse trial said Tuesday that Joseph Rosenbaum’s hand was in “close proximity or in contact” with Rittenhouse’s gun just before he was fatally shot. “Doctor, we talked about this hand wound and how that occurred. If someone is pointing a rifle at you, an AR-15, do you have an explanation of how that hand could be positioned that would result in the injury shown and then also perhaps the injury to the thigh from that same round?” Assistant District Attorney James Krauss asked. This is a close range injury,” Dr. Doug Kelley, a forensic pathologist who performed autopsies on both Rosenbaum and Anthony Huber, testified. “His hand is in close proximity or in contact with the end of that rifle, so you can kind of think of it in your head, you know if you put the end of the rifle close to that trajectory through his hand, you move the hand around, you can put it in different relationships to the body that can explain that. Typically by turning the palm toward the ground it would make sense that it could go through the hand, hit the ground, and create the injuries to the left side of the thigh.” Kelley also testified, when cross-examined by defense attorney Mark Richards, that Rosenbaum’s hand was on the barrel of the gun. That hand was over the barrel of Mr. Rittenhouse’s gun when his hand was shot?” Richards asked, according to CNN Rosenbaum was reaching for Kyle’s gun. He wasn’t scared of being shot; he was not scared at all. He wanted to grab Kyle’s legal gun. Rosenbaum was screaming the n word; it’s on video. Yet Kyle is the “white supremacist” |
I was trained in close proximity to a gun pointed at me to grab it and push into the assailant. I think that's what most people would do if they don't freeze up. Kyle was dressed like deranged mass shooter. ![]() |
