Chrissy Teigen really loves attention

I think one thing that happened is that Trump got elected and people like Teigan who used to tweet nasty things about Lindsay Lohan or Stodden or whoever the "young woman of scorn" of the week was (see also: Perez Hilton, Billy Eichner, anyone associated with E!, etc.), instead started tweeting earnestly about immigration policy. Plus their nastiness got channeled toward Trump, who actually deserved it, so it became easy to rally around these celebs and a bunch of people turned them into avatars for the progressive movement, which was dumb. But it just doesn't seem nasty when people say awful things about Trump or his family because they are vile, so it doesn't occur to people that it actually takes a certain kind of personality to tweet nasty things about other people, even someone as dangerous and awful as Trump.

Now Trump is out of the public eye and there's a bit of a reckoning about the level of gossip, meanness, and misogyny of that era. Look at how Perez Hilton and others have had to make their mea culpas over what they said about Britney back then. The Trump era has woken a lot of people up to the idea that just spewing ugly meanness about people who are struggling is horrible behavior, especially because so often the person being targeted is a young woman who is struggling with body image issues, mental health, potentially even abuse. But this was so common as recently as like 2014. And Teigan was of course a part of it.

It's cute how many people think being part of the #Resistance somehow absolves them of being dicks for years and years. I'm glad to see that some of them are being called on it finally. We are long overdue.

Well said. People who really like Chrissy are stupid sheep or nasty people themselves.

Courtney is a clout chaser. All this to promote her memoir? Nobody cares. People have said worse things on here to each other.

I agree with you both.

No, it is not true that people are free to tell one another to kill themselves. They are also not private messaging minors and telling them to kill themselves.
It’s simply untrue.

You’re invested in the opposite point of view, okay, good for you! Yay! I’m curious about how you’ve decided others feel as you do. I haven’t seen any site other than Chrissy’s own Twitter sycophants and a couple of maniacs here taking up for her. Not on normal
Twitter, not on Reddit, not on Lipstick Alley. Nowhere.

Whats true is that you have no idea about how horrible people are on Twitter or Reddit. What’s true is that Courtney wants to be famous. Maybe this pisses you off but it’s pretty much what she has been chasing for most of her life. It’s also true that Chrissy is a bully and mean person.

“Normal Twitter” “normal Reddit” now that is funny.

Isn't Courtney a "they" now? Clearly you have an axe to grind because Chrissy is getting the heat she deserves. Don't care what Courtney has to gain from it, I consider it a public service. But glad to know the truth is out there about Chrissy.

If you just want to whine about Twitter or Reddit being horrible, then start a thread on the subject. It’s not particularly relevant to Chrissy telling a young person to kill herself. You shouldn’t tell people to kill themselves, no matter how nice the other people are on the platform you’re using to communicate.

Glad that her brand deals are being cancelled. What a horror show she is.

What brand deals? The agreement to remove her cookingware from Target was set last year. Has anything else really happened?
