Nope, he won’t keep headphones on, and yes, I was working and half listening at the same time. They did count arounds and break out counting groups so it’s noticeable when someone who needs a lot of help. Welcome to virtual kindergarten. It’s a group project and I have not enjoyed it. |
I thought teachers were smart, do they not realize healthcare workers have been going in before the vaccine |
JFC. Give it a rest. They are going back. |
News flash- most kindergarteners are not capable of sitting in front of a screen on their own and following along with distance learning/navigating between different portals without substantial parental support so yes, if you can’t afford a full time tutor/nanny and don’t want your kid to be one of those bottom four you pretty much do need to be constantly monitoring. This is why distance learning for the early elementary students is a joke. The posters criticizing op clearly have older children and just don’t get it. |
This is almost bringing me to tears thinking of these kids trying to learn and socialize on headphones. I don’t have little kids btw. |
+100 |
No. It's because teachers don't have time to do this. They are busy teaching your children online. And even if you don't think that's adequate, they are trying to do their jobs, and it's been very time-consuming. Worrying about what people like you think and shopping around for PR firms to help them is the last thing they have the time or money for. |
They are smart. They even know how to avoid using run-on sentences and when to use question marks. |
No I’m the teacher mom Pp and my first grade kid did DL til they went back. She needed occasional help but my job meant I didn’t get to sit in and listen and take notes to the point I could tell you who were the “lowest 4” in her class. |
That’s dramatic. They did fine. Was it ideal, no. Did they still find ways to talk, chat, have fun, communicate? Yes. My kid had plenty of knowledge of her peers when they went in person because their teacher facilitated that for them online. Tears from adults is so unnecessary, god the drama is nonstop. |
Correct - many federal employees have been required to come into the office for work, particularly in the national security and law enforcement agencies. There has even been press coverage about the fact there have been issues with people not wearing masks at some agencies. Don't assume all federal employees are all safe at home simply because you don't want to go back into the classroom. I have actually understood why teachers are apprehensive about going back in. But don't act like you have the only jobs that have required in person work. |
Apparently not science smart... |
Hey loser. Teachers are going back. You’ll need to go find someone new to bully. |
No too many were granted bogus exceptions |
Well their doctor had to sign off and HR had to as well so your personal definition of “bogus” doesn’t matter. In Loudoun it’s only 701 teachers total who got P1 status and none got P2. It’s probably 1/4-1/3 in APS. The number isn’t big at all. |
