Uh...regular folks get away with it every day. Me included. About 5 years ago I was speeding, doing 97 in a 45, had a car accident that I was able to walk away from and there were no consequences (I mean except for the totaled car, broken ankle, and bruised faced). I crashed into a tree. Passerby’ pulled me out of car, COPS CAME, realized I wasn’t under the influence, DH picked me up and I went home. I was recklessly speeding in a very fast SUV with airbags that probably saved my life. No witnesses, so no ticket. Cops did not request blood test or even perform a sobriety test and I’m black! Ha!

Wow. This is even more evidence that cops will let it slide if you endanger others while driving under the influence.

No. You’re just bad at reading comprehension. We have no scientific evidence as to where he was sober or intoxicated. Neither the press nor the police have seen any toxicology or other evidence one way or the other.

+1. Here was no toxicology report done, but that’s not all that surprising in a case like this, even if he weren’t famous. Police would have had to get a search warrant to compel a blood test for a tox screen. That would have been hard to get, though, because they could do a field sobriety test to establish probable cause, and it was a one-car crash that is ultimately only a property damage case since there was no injury to anyone but himself. A judge is going to be very reluctant to sign off on that unless the person is already on probation for prior DUIs.

Well let me clear it up. I wasn’t. I was joy riding in my brand new Range Rover Sport SVR. Totaled it. Got a new one, never drove over 85 again. Very thankful that I didn’t kill myself or someone else. But I am an admitted thrill seeking driver. I like fast cars, but I found new places to safety put them to the test.

Actually he was driving normally then suddenly sped up , indicating he accidentally hit the gas instead of brake. This is why they offer a driver, driving an unfamiliar car.
