Was? You’re aware slavery is still a thing, right? By some definitions there are about 40 million enslaved people in the world, right now.

Good point. That should say the previous system of slavery in the US. There are other places in the world that still have slavery in various forms, and the US still has slavery in the form of the prison-industrial complex. We'd do well to abolish that as well.

Are you ok with fully funding involuntary commitment? Maybe call your politician and say so. You sometimes fo have to force people to get help, pr they end uo in violent delusional altercations.

This is completely false by the way -- there is overwhelming evidence that policing reduces crime, especially homicide. Whether it does so in a humane manner and the extent of reform needed is another question.
