And it's a teenager.

Traveled out of the country. How many times do travelers need to hear this?

Article says it isn't a public school student, and the private schools in Richmond have spring break this week, so my guess this is a college student. It very well could be a college student who was on study abroad in Italy that was sent home. You don't know but most teens aren't internationally traveling on their own dime.

That’s not good....

Leesburg

Is there a source for this?

Am I the only one concerned by our lack of more results today? To me this is just another confirmation of inadequate testing...

No you aren't. It is not conceivable that we've only gone up by 1 since yesterday. If Virginia's only had capacity to test 200-300 people a day they haven't been testing nearly enough. There are more out there. I'm not relying on # of confirmed cases

I mean, one they created more testing centers in NYC, the mayor said confirmed cases ballooned in a matter of hours. It's so hard to square that with the numbers we are getting here.

Per day? It sounds like the state of Virginia only has 300-400 test kits total right now.

Virginia diocese has closed all its episcopal churches services for 2 weeks. It’s in the post and I just got an email from my church.

That's really great, actually. That should help.

Three kids on my sons high school sports team are out of commission right now with respiratory infections. Another kid from his team had a 104 degree fever two weeks ago (and was still out and about, going to school and playing sports). I think this is here and it’s been here and we’re only hearing about cases that are bad enough for people to be hospitalized.

You could be right about that. During the press conference I interpreted it as a daily capacity number, but not so sure now. And I obviously couldn't remember if it was 200-300 or 300-400

I hope it's true, because it'd mean a whole lot more people are positive and it also means the lack of a rush to the hospitals so far is very, very encouraging.

When will VA declare the state of emergency?

The news reports with “from international travel” are ridiculous. When you’re only testing people that meet the international travel to specific countries criteria, then of course the presumed positives are “from international travel”.

The Georgetown one is an exception and that was only tested because of the connection with that case.
