Thanks PP for sharing Adam Serwer’s article in The Atlantic. No Republicans here will bother reading it.

Kavanaugh is no Tom Robinson. Be ashamed.

Ashamed of the belief in the foundation of our legal system of innocence until proven guilty? Never.

I have no doubt that something terrible happened to Dr. Ford. I watched her testimony, and I feel sympathy for her. I really do.

However, there is absolutely no evidence that Judge Kavanaugh did anything to her. You are letting your emotions take over your rational thinking.

I don't know if Ford and Kavanaugh intersected or what happened when they did.

I know that his behavior today is unacceptable for a Supreme Court justice. His behavior over his past professional life is also unacceptable for a Supreme Court justice.

Dianne Feinstein is speaking VERY well.

She is coldly and calmly enumerating all the many reasons why Kavanaugh should not be confirmed.

You can listen on NPR 88.5 or wapo front page.

If it is true that McConnell doesn't have the votes, then the honorable thing to do would be to pull the nomination. Instead, again if true, the GOP will use Kavanaugh (and his family) as a political pawn to try to rile GOP voters for the midterms.

Reminds me of when people though Amanda Knox was a sex murdress because she did a cartwheel when dealing with the death of her roommate. “That’s not how you act” they chanted, never for a moment reflecting on the basis for their suppositions about how one is to respond to a different situation.

I don’t know what the truth is for Kavanaugh or Ford.

I do know that you cannot divine any great insight from his anger after being accused. In either direction.

That's not what people are saying. His behavior isn't indicative necessarily of being guilty of any crime, but the behavior is, in and of itself, disqualifying for a SCJ. Guilty, not guilty. You just can't act like that at a job interview and expect to be hired. Especially when that job is to remain above the fray, to remain composed at all times, and to inspire the confidence of the American people in the system of checks and balances for an entire lifetime.

This seems like odd timing. I agree with McConnell that we need to have a vote. That will happen this morning. Then the actual vote will happen tomorrow (or Sunday). Why is Collins announcing mid-afternoon today?

Manchin says he's not going to announce his vote ahead of time.

He's waiting to see how everyone else votes. If it looks like Kavanaugh's a No, he'll vote No. If it looks like Kavanaugh's a yes, he'll vote Yes. He doesn't want to be the tie-breaker (neither do the other undecideds).

Then I hope he loses his election. We need principles!

Such a contrast to Grassley.

Why are the Rs so determined to confirm this guy? There are others I'm sure who would fit the bill. Why BK?? Do they just want to win?

You ought to know; you wrote the playbook.

The man's personal and professional life was blown apart by this accusation. He was angry about being blindsided by the accusation. I give the man a pass for righteous anger.

To the GOP/Kavanaugh supporters, do you agree or disagree with this article?

How is this all going to end? I just want to know.

Entropy will result in the last star fading to black. The universe will be dark and lifeless for eternity.

That made me feel better. I saw Hamilton last month and ever since I've envisioned my great grandkids going to the theater to see "2016 The Musical."

LOL, someone admitting publicly having paid money to see Hamilton.

You must run in a different crowd than most people in DC.

+1. I swear, who are these people, and where are they posting from? So many of my friends and neighbors have shelled out to see it. We're going to see it on Broadway next month.

No, you don't know the definition of evidence. If someone swears you did something, that is evidence. Doesn't mean it happened, but it is evidence. That's how it works.

Unfortunately I assume this means she's a yes. If the procedural vote is a no, there won't be a vote tomorrow so she wouldn't be announcing anything at 3 pm today.
